My daughter started piano lessons with Stacey just a month ago but she is so excited every week to go. We have been very happy with how Stacey has progressed her - continually adding more difficult pieces to work on to see what she can do. This is our first experience w music lessons of any type and we are really happy with Stacey De & Co! Even my son, who never wants to try anything new, has started asking about taking drum lessons there. We couldn't be happier :)

I contacted Jerry, inquiring about in-home guitar lessons for my daughter. He replied immediately with helpful suggestions of an instructor. When I realized my daughter wanted a female instructor Jerry went out of his way to find out more about my daughter and the kind of instructor who would be compatible with her. He then suggested one of two female instructors he felt would meet her needs. I was impressed with the time and effort he put into helping me find an instructor for her. This was extraordinary that he would take the time to help me when it did not directly benefit him and he did not even know me! I had originally contacted Jerry because of his highly regarded reputation for teaching and instruction. But now I also hold him in high regard for his kindness and dedication to helping others find their way into the world of music.

My son has taken violin lessons with Clete for the last 6 or 7 years and we couldn't be happier to work with such an outstanding teacher. Clete has a vast knowledge of violin technique, great teaching style and a demeanor that lets his students know he means business but is still enjoyable to work with. My son has learned so much from him and continues to grow into a fine musician under Clete's tutelage. I highly rebmend him to anyone looking for a violin teacher.

Corie was my daughter’s first private violin teacher, and she was the perfect foundation for not just the love of the instrument but also the precise technique and skills needed to develop a true musician. Even years later, my daughter’s current teachers are impressed with the solid foundation she received under Corie’s tutelage. Corie made learning a challenging instrument fun at an age-appropriate level without giving up on any high standards. Whether it was learning to read music, developing ear and intonation, or perfecting a bow hold, Corie had multiple ways to teach, to address habits and difficulties, and to share experiences with the larger studio in group lessons. We still use her teaching reminders and phrases during practices sessions. With Corie’s violin lessons, you get more than just basic instruction; you get a surprisingly well-rounded introduction to true musicianship.

I took violin lessons and my sister took piano lessons from Carol for two years. She was always very patient, explained things in a very clear way, and was very encouraging. We were very sorry when we no longer had time to continue our lessons. Anybody who gets to take lessons from Carol should consider them self lucky.

My daughter has been taking violin lessons from Mrs. Jones for the last 3 years, she just started piano a few months ago. We love Mrs. Jones. She makes her lessons interesting, helps my daughter understand and perform well. Mrs. Jones has taught my daughter her music as well as self confidence. Mrs. Jones has her student perform at her church every year and you can tell right away how her students grow to become really accomplished musicians.

I was looking for a short term cello teacher for my 11 year old daughter while her regular teacher was on summer break. City Strings and Piano responded right away and sent a teacher to my home working with the days/hours I preferred. Victor, the cello teacher, was fantastic! He only had four lessons to work with my daughter on her seating audition pieces. She arrived at the audition feeling confident and well prepared! Victor was punctual and extremely helpful in describing the mood of the pieces..explaining dynamics and bowing techniques to improve her playing. He was very patient and friendly...using a bit of humor to engage my daughter and make her feel at ease. I would highly recommend Victor and City Strings & Piano! Loved the convenience of a professional, highly qualified teacher coming to my home!

We worked with Regina to play our wedding in June 2014 and, while she came on the recommendation of a friend, we had no idea the wonderful experience we had in store. Regina came to our house to review our choices, offer suggestions, and essentially reassure us that she had everything under control. Her professionalism and charm were evident from the onset. Regina’s expertise helped guide us through the somewhat overwhelming task of selecting just the right works to accompany each moment of the day. Regina was confident enough in her knowledge to steer us away from pieces that would not necessarily be best represented by a single violin and piano. We were even able to present her with last minute changes by which she was completely unfazed. Our wedding took place at theWit Hotel in Chicago and the beautiful elegance Regina added as we said our vows, greeted our guests, and celebrated at the cocktail reception, was the perfect touch to this most important day! As with most events for which you spend months planning and sorting out each minute detail, the day came and went in a whirlwind haze. However, every compliment from friends and every iPhone video has served to reaffirm what we already knew. Regina was the perfect choice for our wedding and we cannot recommend her enough!

Ms. Nissa is a wonderful teacher. Our daughter, Madelyn, has been taking lessons from Ms. Nissa for the past 4 months. Ms. Nissa is always professional, arrives on time, responds promptly to texts, and has been very flexible scheduling around our busy summer schedule. Ms. Nissa communicates with Madelyn with clarity and makes learning the violin fun! In fact, Madelyn was always sad when her 30 minute lesson was over, so we increased the lesson time to 45 minutes. I highly recommend Ms. Nissa!

Irine is a patient, attentive and articulate teacher. While my playing aspirations are not exceptional, she has taken the time to explain what she believes will be valuable to what I want to achieve. I recommend her without hesitation.

Matthew was an amazing teacher for my teenage daughter. He was always prepared for lessons, creative in his teaching approach, and developed just the right mix of professionalism and friendliness to teach her and keep lessons motivating, educational, and enjoyable. He also listened closely to her goals and accommodated his approach and lesson plans to enable her to achieve what she wanted to with her instrument.

He's an excellent teacher! I straight up knew nothing about the violin when I first started but he was very patient with me which I needed in order to learn basics. He also worked with my schedule which is great. I'm not Mozart but I'm getting there.

    About

I am a current member of the DuPage Symphony and have 20 years of playing experience. I was initially educated in the Suzuki method at both Western Springs School of Talent and Community School of the Arts in Wheaton, followed by pre-conservatory study with Drew Lecher and Nan Zhou. I use a combo of Suzuki and traditional methods, customizing to the student's individual needs and heeding Dr. Suzuki's philosophy at all times. I am also a trained baroque recorder player who has studied privately and taken guest lessons and clinics with nationally-known recorder experts as Vicki Boeckman, Lisette Kielson, Rotem Gilbert and Leighann Daihl. I take violin students ages four and up and recorder students ages eight and up, either through Alleluia Lutheran Church in Naperville or privately within the student's home depending on distance. Please feel free to contact me via Thumbtack for more details, and thank you for considering me to be your violin teacher!
