- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $150/hour for the time that I’m actively DJing. An hour of setup beforehand and an hour of teardown after are included. All of my equipment is also included in that price. The only time I’ll charge for equipment is if I’m asked to rent a specific piece of equipment that I don’t have.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My grandpa used to DJ parties, weddings, and even bars many years ago. When he retired from it, he gave me a lot of his equipment and I started learning how to use it all. I’ve since modernized the setup as I’ve grown my skills.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients are individuals and small businesses, but I’ve also done work for large corporations on some of my larger projects.
