- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons occur once a week unless we decide upon something different. Tuition is paid monthly: 30 minutes/week: $130/month 45 minutes/week: $180/month 60 minutes/week: $220/month Single hour: $60
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading and studying about the vocal mechanism. I belong to some online voice teacher groups where we share ideas. The teachers in this group come from all over the English speaking world - UK, Australia, NYC, etc.. I am never too old to learn. Plus, my formal education was in Vocal Performance not school music teaching. In college, I learned about the voice and performing skills not how to handle an unruly 5th grader or how to (poorly) play to violin as school music teachers do.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have known I wanted to perform all of my life. I came to teach 20 years ago when I was helping my friends and my friend's children prepare for auditions, etc. It was those friends who pointed out that I was actually very good at teaching folks to sing and perform. I decided to give teaching full time a try and found out that I was not only good at it, but I loved it!
