Working with Sal was a wonderful experience. He is a certified arborist, and we needed help with our withering 35' Blue Spruce, two 35' Norway Pines and our 40' River Birch. 23 years ago, we planted these trees in a staggered pattern in our backyard to use as screening, since we do not have a fence around our yard, and we wanted our large deck to have some privacy. Now that the trees have matured, they were actually doing damage to each other. We had to remove the 35' Blue Spruce, so that the remaining trees could get more sunshine and nutrients from the soil. Sal educated us on what needed to be done, and after the Blue Spruce was removed, Sal and his crew trimmed our remaining trees in a way that will train them to "fill in the large privacy gap" created when we removed the Blue Spruce. We had no idea that could be done! Sal and his crew also "lifted our trees" (trimmed them at the bottoms), so they will remain healthy and be more resistant to insects and disease. We had no idea that needed to be done either. We love the look of "natural trees", and we did not know that our trees needed to be tended to, other than water and fertilizer that we provide regularly. Sal was the first to respond to our Thumbtack request. He was super responsive, polite, helpful and knowledgeable every time we contacted him. We have asked Sal to contact us in 2-3 years for the next time we need our trees tended to. If we had contacted Sal a few years ago, he said we could have saved our Blue Spruce.

Such a great business. They have a lot of knowledge about trees. They just don’t remove trees without thoroughly looking things over. Very reasonable and professional. I can’t say good enough things about these folks. We got 8 people to give us estimates, and these guys were the best!!!

Sal and his team did a great job removing 3 of our pine trees that were in poor shape. They replaced them with 3 new trees and improved the height of the trees in the mulch bed. Highly recommend this company for their quality of work and professionalism.

We posted our request on Thumbtack on May 22, 2023, to three providers. Only Sal responded and made a site visit the following day. We wanted our existing shrubs removed and replaced. Sal made recommendations on the best replacement shrubs (see before and after pictures). My wife and I are retired, and in all of our years, we agree that Sal is the best among the best in providing quality service. The project was completed on May 26, 2023, at a very reasonable price. It was a relatively small project, but Sal and his crew spent 4 hours removing the old shrubs, preparing the garden bed, and planting the new shrubs. I cannot say enough about Sal's expert opinion on the replacement shrubs and the amount of preparation done to plant them. They are meticulous and conscientious. For instance, installing the weed barrier was done with scissors to conform to the border of the bed. Sal instructed us on the care of the shrubs to minimize transplant shock. and pruning. We are planning to have more work done by Sal very soon.

If I could choose all categories I would. Sal and his helper did an awesome job. They went above and beyond the scope of work. He prepared my yard for a fence I’m having installed. He removed a huge tree stump, 3 overgrown bushes, and trimmed several bushes. He transplanted an evergreen and another bush. They cleaned my yard. I will be hiring them again for more yard projects. I’m very impressed!
