FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are generally dependent upon amount of time spent filming vs. editing, as well as factors such as travel or expected delivery time, so I try to refrain from a standard pricing system. However, I like to work within the budget of the employer, so I will be amenable in almost any case.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first like to have a conversation (ideally via phone, but e-mail works too) about the project and the customer's overall vision. Once a rate/budget has been agreed upon, I type up a contract/invoice, and we settle on a date for filming as well as a timetable for projected completion and delivery. Finally, I like to meet at an agreed-upon location to personally show the customer the project, and edit any last-minute changes if necessary. I aim to never leave a customer dissatisfied, and have excellent efficiency!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my BA in Communications from Indiana University in 2011, in addition to attending the Moving Image Arts program at The Santa Fe College of Art and Design from 2007-2009. I'm also certified as a Final Cut Pro editor, and have worked as a video editing tutor for Wyzant for the past three years.
