We used Thumbtack to search for a videographer for our wedding. After talking to several businesses that responded, and also getting opinions and word of mouth from our friends that do DJ and live band work in the area, Avid Videographers was chosen. They were not only a complete pleasure to deal with before the wedding, but did everything they could to meet our budget. I used to do some wedding photography, and I was always taught that a quality photographer should be invisible at the ceremony. They should blend in. These two did. I can't remember where they were! They were never underfoot. The finished product was phenomenal. We were so happy with it. Chapters were included, great sound, and the best part: Our actual ceremony got a bit flubbed when a key part was left out of the middle and we had to do it at the end. Avid was great enough to edit it into the middle where it belonged. I HIGHLY recommend this team for your wedding or event. Thankyou, Avid!!!

Tom did the video for my only daughter's wedding and he was just great to work with. The video was perfect. He captured every important moment starting with getting ready at the church through the reception. While the wedding pictures are nice to look through, capturing those moments on a video is just so much better -- just like reliving the day all over again. The biggest plus is that the bride and the groom sometimes are so caught up in what they are doing that they miss actually "seeing" what is going on. I would highly recommend Tom for any type of video....great personality, great person and does great work.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do offer predefined packages which are listed on our website but we do offer customized options if these do not fit our clients needs. The big difference in pricing is we do not charge by the hour for coverage. The price listed on the package or the quote provided will be what is due.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to get a sense of what the customer has in mind. We offer many predefined packages for weddings but they do not always fit exactly what the couple needs. By learning what they want we can make recommendations based on our understanding of the couples vision for their wedding video.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Tom VanNevel the main videographer and editor received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a focus in Electronic Media from Indiana University in 2005. To update his skill set he went back to school and earned a Master of Science in Digital Media from Valparaiso University in 2012. Miranda VanNevels background lends her more towards the business side of Avid Videographers. She graduated from Saint Mary's College with a Bachelor of Science in Computational Mathematics and is currently working on her Masters in Project Management.
