Introduction: I teach harmony, theory, counterpoint, aural skills, and solfege. I in other words, I teach foundations and technique of music. I also teach English to speakers of other languages, and I tutor grammar and writing. Other important areas of inquiry and discovery for me are ancient and Homeric Greek and the great books (Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Hume, Wittgenstein, Husserl, etc). I am an excellent and patient teacher. My method is to find out what you know (engage and elicit), introduce a new material with technique to acquire it (study), and then generate some appropriate exercise(s) to apply and use your newly acquired and developing knowledge (activate).
