Darrell Thomas is extremely professional. He is passionate at what he does. I had previously had an inspection report on my building. Darrell was able to pin point without me telling him all that was wrong with my building everything on the inspection report. Darrell with his team of professions changed all 16 stone window sills, He put in a porcelain tile floor, also cut open all the dry wall around the perimeter of my building. My old stone foundation has crumbled grout. The grout was removed and refilled with an epoxy mortar so wall was stabilized and waterproofed . Darrell than used insulation that was enclosed in a seal and filled all the cavities between the wood studs . Darrell then used green-board to replace old drywall. He sealed the area where floor meets wall and put vinyl trim all around. Darrell asked me to get the premium paint and his team did an absolutely stunning job at painting all rooms. His workers protected my floors and cleaned up after they finished. Darrell also fixed some pluming and adjusted my gas lines to meet code. His team of professional workers were very polite and protected my property. I give Darrell Thomas of DCT Construction 5 PLUS STARS
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Scott and Caryn are hard working ppl, honest and know what they are doing. They installed gutter screens for my second floor, they cleaned the gutter for the whole house including garage. I know I can trust and rely on them for the work they've done.
I contacted Tom and he came out the next day on a Friday night to look at our job, which was retiling 2 bathroom floors, painting a vanity, doing a bunch of miscellaneous touch up painting, and some other miscellaneous bathroom work. He (and his 2 workers) started the job three days later and completed in 4 days, one day quicker than predicted. He was extremely responsive in responding to calls and texts, and helped us plan the project and gave good advice to us in the planning. The cost was reasonable. They cleaned up each day reasonably well. I would use him again.
Due to minerals in our water, our shower was falling apart. Both handles for the faucet broke off, leaking water got behind the tiles and the wall was literally breaking up. There were about 6 missing tiles with no wall behind them. Since we needed to gut the shower area, we decided to remove the bathtub and install just a shower. Ron came over and made some recommendations and quoted a fair price. He got the job going and kept us informed of the progress each day and prepared us for possible problems. Ron took my wish and turned it into a beautiful reality. We have a new shower, tile floor and vanity - nearly a whole new bathroom! This is the first project of this size I've ever done in the house and I'm so glad that I found Ron to do it. His work is neat and clean and beautifully done. He doesn't waste time and has respect for your home. He's honest and will give you his recommendations but respects your decisions. I have more projects to do in the house and you can be sure I'm calling Ron! Thank you Ron for my pretty new bathroom.
I hired Kosterna Construction to do various drywall projects, including building the framing and insulating the walls. They also put in support beams where needed, built a sub floor for tile in the kitchen, installed an exterior door with frame, built frames/molding around windows, evened out a sloping floor/ ceiling. I was able to buy my own materials and paid them for the labor. They are very experienced in all new construction and remodeling. Very nice, reliable, easy to work with. I thought they did great work for a fair price and plan on hiring them for future projects! attached are some photos
Mike did a great job painting our kitchen cabinets - they look beautiful! Mike pays attention to detail and communicates very well. We found him trustworthy, conscientious and reliable. We highly recommend him for any kind of painting project.
Did a great job epoxying my garage floor!
Sam, was quick to respond and did the work promptly for my client who was getting her house ready for sale. Him and his crew came out on a Sunday. They painted the bathroom and basement floor. They also cleaned the entire house and removed all miscellaneous stuff left behind by the previous tenants. I highly recommend Sam and his professional staff.
Nick is a real great guy, with a great work ethic, and an all around honest guy. I will be hiring him for a number of other project going on in my house this year. He did a lot of exterior painting on my house, and did a great job. I recommend Nick to anyone that is in need for a great all around handyman with absolutely great people skills who will respect you and your family. This guy is true rarity in his trade, and you won't find another guy like him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Jefert did a great job painting my living room, kitchen and hallway. His pricing was fair and comparable and he was simply a pleasure to work with and was very insightful. Definitely recommend him to others!!
Roger and his helper did a good job with painting my exterior. They had to go back over a few items to make me happy and but he did so quickly and efficiently. One concern was the ladder system used to paint the high peak of my home - it looked unsteady and made me nervous. Overall they did a great job! Thanks guys.
Jeremy helped me with a 2nd floor remodel (2 bedrooms) as well as a complete gut job of my tiny upstairs bathroom and some minor fixes in a downstairs bathroom. Right from the start there were several unforeseen issues that should have knocked Jeremy off his original finish date. The issues consisted of structural problems with both the second floor bathroom and several of the basement joists, decaying water and drain pipes, and fixing some of the issues from my last contractors work. Despite all of the problems that he had faced, Jeremy still managed to finish only 1 day behind schedule. The work itself was absolutely flawless, and Jeremy did not let any of the work he contracted out go unchecked. For example, he called the plumbers back because they were about 1-2 centimeters off center on our shower head and faucet. He clearly takes pride in the work he does, and after pulling 30+ audibles on him about things my wife and I wanted done, he was more than willing to do the work, if it was possible. Jeremy did 90% of the project himself, but the entire crew that he hired was professional, maintenance free, and I have not had one issue since completion. There was not one day that he showed up late, went MIA on me during the 6 week process, and if there were problems that arose he offered every solution he could to get whatever needed done within budget. Jeremy himself is a great guy to work with personally, and I will absolutely be using Heritage down the line for several more projects that we had planned.
Garage floor epoxy...
Thank you, Tudor! Wonderful job on my new kitchen floor. My family loves the new look. See you in a few months to redo my cabinets.
We hired Mark and his crew to remove miscellaneous items from our garage, basement and shed. He was very upfront and honest with what was involved in the job and the cost. His communication was very good throughout the project and he reached out to us several times to keep us up-to-date with when the work would be completed. We would definitely hire him again.
I highly recommend Chris and his guys! From beginning to end, we were happy. We had hardwood floors put in and the work is amazing! he was so nice, the quality was excellent and he was very neat. We also had interior painting done. The painters did a great job- the lines were perfect and the paint looks awesome. They cleaned up after themselves every day and were so nice. Chris takes pride in his company and on making his clients happy and it shows.
Redefined coatings came to work on my basement floor that was somewhat irregular. They did a great job of grinding and leveling and put on a pearl/grey finish that looks great at a very reasonable price. They were prompt , friendly and cleaned up after themselves everyday they worked. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
After having two painters back out on me I found Frank who was able to get what I needed done in the time I wanted it done. My condo that I had just purchased looked like it was straight out of 1992! I needed mirror walls removed, wallpaper and wonderful flower borders. Frank took care of it all and now my home reflects me and I couldn't be happier. He is a joy to work with very professional, neat and does a great job! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a painter!
I highly recommend Azerimex Remodelers! They completely redid the inside of my Condo. They did such a good job that when I bought my house I had them redo the kitchen, master bath, garage, and the entire basement. They repainted my walls and re-stained my hardwood floors. My house is gorgeous. Whatever you want done they can do it. Not to mention they are friendly and my dogs loved them!
My experience with Thomas McNichols was very pleasant. He helped me with the design of my remodeling project with regard to the layout and products. In 2008 I hired Thomas McNichols to remodel my home. I had an unfinished attic which I was now going to finish and add a dormer to. I had them build me two bedrooms, a walk in closet, bathroom, linen closet and 3 storage closets. Central air was also added to my second floor. Before the second floor could be complete, my existing stairways to my attic and basement had to be taken out and rerouted. Brand new stairs were built to my seond floor and basement. Once that project was done, I had my kitchen completely remodeled. It was a complete gut job and they also opened up a back porch to enlarge the kitchen. While the kitchen renovation was going on, new siding was being put on my whole house and new front stairs were built. The entire house renovation took 4 1/2 months to complete. In 2009 I hired Thomas McNichols again to put new siding on my garage and pour a new patio in my backyard. In 2013 I again hired Thomas McNichols to gut and remodel a first floor bathroom which took 3 weeks to complete. At that time, they also opened up a first floor bedroom off my kitchen and converted it to a family room. That job took 10 days to complete. I could not have been more pleased with the work that Thomas Builders & Construction Co. performed at my house. I was very pleased with the outcome. My house is beautiful. This company is very professional, they were always on time, they cleaned up after themselves every day and never left me a mess, and every step of the construction was explained to me along the way. There were no surprises, they were very patient with me and very reasonable in their rates. The quality of the work was outstanding. I recommend Thomas McNichols to everyone I know.
To anyone looking for a contractor large or small Joe is the one you are looking for. My name is Debbie, I live in Glenview Illinois. I have been saving for many years to put an addition on our house. I have been very skeptical of contractors in the past, but my friend who used Joe for his driveway was very happy with the work he did. The business is called Junk It Joes (clean outs, demolition, excavation and concrete). I hired him for an addition on our house and demolition of our one car garage to build a two car garage and a full 500sq ft addition with 9 ft basement on back of our garage, which is always scary putting that much faith in someone to put a hole in your house, and I was nothing less than very pleased. The references I checked all came out excellent and his estimates came out in the same ballpark as for our budget. The speed, in which it got done, even though he is not a large company, was fast. The most stressful part he put behind us and our minds at ease. It saved us a lot of time and money to hire one company when we had concrete companies that did not do excavating and demolition which added allot more to the bids. Joe informed us it is the same equipment to do all this and also said it takes alot more time to have 3 different companies lined up and also the amount we saved we were able to get a lot more. We acted as the general contractor to save money and Joe helped us every step of the way with other contractors so we did not get ripped off. He informed us that we could always fire contractors if we were not happy and by making sure we did not pay in advance for work not completed. With this knowledge he gave us the upper hand. He worked side by side with other contractors to make sure everything went smooth as soon as the house was opened up. He put plywood and plastic up so no saw dust or debris came into the house. The site was cleaned up every day. I didn't have to worry about mud, dust or debris getting into my house. After the third day we were very at ease with going to work knowing Joe and his crew was amazing and they all knew exactly what to do without being told. He informed us him and his three main guys been with him since he started. We had kids there and they were nothing less than always professional and on time. My kids and neighbors kids loved watching the project. Because of this Joe stayed late put orange safety fence up every night another thing not in our bid. He went above and beyond; he also made sure other contractors put it back up. He was very concerned about the kids getting in and hurt. He was also big on the contractors we hired conduct themselves professionally and not use four letter words when having a bad day. It was summer and hot it was august and we let other contractors know Joe wanted to call a meeting of everyone we hired to make sure if they could not get there when called to retract there bid and that was kids and winter around corner. It was not his job but he is such nice guy that everyone respected him including us. I believe he was the youngest owner we hired of a company. He never had to yell or act like a jerk and let everyone know this is someones home savings and lifelong dream. He made sure everyone knew that its not just a job. He explained all costs and step by step of what would be done. He was very forthcoming if something had to be changed. He is very honest and takes pride in his work. He was always at the job every day and treated it like it was his own house; he worked longer and harder than anyone else. He wanted to make sure, due the fact that houses are so close to each other, that no damage was done to our neighbors house or ours with the big machines used he did it himself. He even put up silk fencing before he started at no charge to us. There was a problem with an electrical line missed marked and had to be moved right in the path of the new addition. When digging it shut the job down temporarily, but Joe got Com Ed out right away to move the line. This was not in our budget but we already knew we saved so much when he had to call me at work he was scared. Glad to inform you with him that was our biggest problem and we lost no sleep. By end of the week the job was back on schedule. We never had to worry about materials not being paid, he did this without asking. When it came time for every payout there were only three. He turned something I thought was going to be a long nightmare into something that did not take much of our time. However the job was big enough Joe explained that what he quoted was able to do extras and not work for free. Not because we were homeowners trying get everything for the cheapest or free. He informed us yes there are bad contractors but there are people that rip them off too. So it works both ways. Joe showed proof of all receipts (which I would never have thought to ask). He also informed us to do the same thing with the other subcontractors we hired that were doing work as well. I have heard of horror stories of liens being put on homes, we never had to worry. We didn't even have to put a deposit down until the concrete was ready to be poured. The job came in under budget and was done very professional. He never tried to over sell us anything we did not need. We asked him about heated concrete floors because we heard other people loved them. Most contractors would jump on it and charge a fortune for extras. He told us that it was very efficient but his crew has only done a couple, it is very time consuming and worries about leaks in the line. Instead of trying to sell us on it, he told us get bids. After we told him how much others cost he said he would do it for the cost of labor only if we order it. He spent so much time with the manufacture on the phone and made sure he would not have to rip his new concrete up. He said he has done a couple but has been lucky, not what we do every day. We paid for the system and he only charged us labor but the deal was my husband had to help so they both learned about it. It cost us less than half the bids we got. We love it, the best thing ever got and we were still within our budget. My husband is a union carpenter whom would work with Joe or recommend him any day. He was very impressed with his work; he went above and beyond what was expected and even threw in a few extras to keep us happy. After the second day I was completely confident I hired the right person. He did a follow up call after the first month, three months later and stopped by just to make sure we were still happy and there were no problems. This is our second year and have passed his name along to all my friends and family. We are happy to report that we love our addition and have made it the dream house. Its done, furnished and we saved so much we could furnish it. I never thought in million years the project would come under budget. For being the biggest project I ever taken on, without him I dont think it would have went as well. It was well worth the countless hours my husband and I spent with him he acted more like the general contractor. We had enough for a new concrete driveway in the end instead of asphalt. We offered him a bonus since he acted like a general contractor and relied on him so heavily we felt bad but he turned it down. He said his guys deserve it more than him but he could not take it. He said if we wanted to get them any Christmas presents that he usually gets them gift cards for red wing boots. He said he has not been able to do it past few years because of the economy and after the job, they did need them. He still sends us Christmas cards and so do we.
