What began as the installation of a new electrical server, and panel upgrade, evolved into the hiring of Mr. Day to completely re-wire my entire home. I was happy to have found an electrician that was: Licensed, Bonded, Insured and knew Chicago's wiring codes. He offered a competitive rate, which did not feel exorbitant nor alarmingly low. I am a firm believer, that if the price is too good to be true, RUN!!! And where too high, get several bids. Mr. Day gave a written proposal, outlining the price for labor and materials. I found him to be detailed in explaining his services, and how proper electrical wiring was suppose to be installed vs. what had been done in my home, which was passed off as work. I was impressed with his willingness to explain the importance of electrical wiring, the work it entailed and why it was necessary to have it completed "to code" to ensure safe and reliable electrical current delivery. Mr. Day completed the work in a timely manner and always asked if I had questions, or concerns. Where there were un-foreseen issues, he did not proceed until he conferred with me. I appreciated this step, which allowed me the homeowner to control additional cost, if warranted. I can honestly say, in the 25 years of owning and residing in my home, a 1920s English Tudor, which when purchased, was sold with the "inferred" impression that wiring was current; I am now not only pleased, but also confident in the safety of my home's electrical wiring, now that it has been completely rewired properly with safety in mind. Based on my experience with Mr. Day, I would not hesitate to refer him to others. A tradesman's greatest advertising is his work, and Mr. Day's work speaks volumes!
