Lee K. says, "LNL construction did a great job on a very challenging repair. I have a queen anne house, built on a hill, behind retaining walls or extreme hills on all sides. My turret roof and cedar shingle siding was in desperate need of repair. Literally 15 or so other professional roofers simply no-quoted the job because they didn't know how to get up to the roof to repair it... or at least didn't want to think about it. For those roofers there was easier money to be made elsewhere. I had been searching for over a year and the roof and siding just kept getting worse in that time. Along comes LNL. Jason at LNL worked with me through a lot of my questions about shingle type, cedar siding shingles, paint type and colors etc. We probably discussed the job via email for 2 months finalizing all of the details and working through all of my questions. Once we had an agreement on all of the details LNL started their work. They had to build custom scaffolding and rent scaffolding as well in order to get up to the roof and siding. Neighbors looked on in awe. Repairs on the turret were long over due. See attached before, during, and after pictures. LNL took the time to match wood types (maple, oak, cedar, etc) when making repairs and was careful when painting with no spills on the main roof section of the house. They even went so far as to clean up their brushes away from the house so as not to make a mess with the paint on the lawn. The new roof shingles look great, the siding shingles look great, the painting and colors look great and I couldn't be happier. Thanks LNL Construction!"See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.
