It was a very complicated Ikea furniture assembly job, which my partner had not been able to complete. Quality Services spent four hours on this job and were wonderful company the entire way. The work came out fine. We would highly recommend them.
They even shrink-wrapped the dressers so the drawers wouldn't pop open. Good job.
Assembly of Crate & Barrel kitchen cart. Did a great job! Would definitely hire again.
I hired Bob (not Roger; Roger is Bob's cousin who handles the Thumbtack account) to move about 70% of the stuff out of a 1,500ish sq. ft. house and into a similar-size house; my husband and I did the rest. I sent Roger a list of the largest items to put on the truck, and he estimated that the move would take 3-4 hours. Overall, I'm pleased with Bob's Movers -- thus the four-star rating. I elaborate below on the pros and cons of the service. I know that reviews can make or break a company, so take my cons with a grain of salt. They might not apply to you or affect you. That said, let's start with the pros: 1. Reasonable price: I'm not sure whether the price varies by the size of the job, the estimated amount of time, the number of guys on the job, etc., but I was quoted $60/hour for three guys and a truck. I was told that there was no minimum cost, so if the move took only three hours, I'd pay for only three hours, not four. 2. Excellent communication: Roger responded quickly to my messages on Thumbtack, and Bob responded quickly to my texts and phone calls. 3. Timeliness: The guys showed up 15-20 minutes early. Fine by me! 4. Care: The crew tried mighty hard not to damage any of our stuff. They packed the truck tightly so that nothing would shift. 5. Friendliness: All three guys were nice. Even though at times they were carrying some really heavy stuff, they stayed in good spirits. So here are the cons: 1. Truck size: At about 14', the truck wasn't large enough to move a small houseful of stuff, so two trips were necessary, extending the moving time to 6ish hours. 2. Smoke! At least one of the men smoked, even inside the back of the truck. I don't know whether the moving blankets were smoky too, but our upholstered items smell smoky now. A few weeks' time and periodic Febrezing should fix the couch and most other items, but the smell is pretty deeply embedded in one mattress and box spring in particular (they were at the back of the truck, right up against the cab), so those might take a month or two to air out. 3. Bumps and bruises: I asked Bob whether he offers insurance, like the big moving companies do, and what sort of policy he has regarding damage. He said that nothing would be damaged, because he and his guys are careful and "do it right," but if something were to be damaged, he'd pay for it on the spot. I expect minor wear and tear from a move, and very minor wear and tear is what I got: a scuffed couch leg (normally I cover the legs for a move, but I forgot to this time) and a dented dresser drawer edge. Am I bummed? Yeah. Did I complain to Bob? Nope. These little things are just the hazards of moving. And frankly, it's miraculous that these were the only physical damages. 4. Not quite three men: Two of the guys busted their butts for us the entire time. The third man directed the others, telling them what to do and where to put things. He also helped maneuver some of the oversized items out of one house and into the other, and he disassembled and reassembled a bed. In essence, we had the man-power of somewhere between two and three men.
Bob and his crew moved a very old, upright piano and a TV armoire. They arrived early, jumped right in, and went moved out in 20 mins. I did not see the delivery, but my father-in-law reported a job well done. Crew did a great job!
Our experience with Nick and NDS was fantastic! We had some water damage in our master bathroom and so required a full make over of our bathroom for the most part which took place back in November.Nick and his crew are very articulate and pay attention to detail. From the tile installation to the painting was all completed in a timely manner and as expected, and as we are fairly particular. We must say we were very pleased with our experience with NDS and would highly recommend Nick and his crew! Our bathroom looks awesome!!
I had a leak from the rough in assembly on a shower valve. Mike was the first to respond to my request and arrived ahead of his scheduled time. He did a professional job and had it completed in 2 1/2 hours which included a trip to the hardware to purchase fittings. I would recommend Mike for any of your plumbing needs and will use him for future jobs. His price is very fair and competitive.
Beyond expectations. I really like the way Thumbtack operates. I wasn't aware of this before. Will come to the site again.
I put in a request for furniture assembly and heard back immediately. They arrived early for the appointment and were professional and courteous. They did a great job and were meticulous. I will definitely be calling them again!
Shane was very accommodating and professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring furniture assembly services
Was very professional and came on time. Did a good job putting my dresser together! Thank you!!
Larry and his assistant did an excellent, professional job assembling my furniture. Even when I didn't have the directions to put my dining buffett together, they were willing to figure it out. Once I was able to get the directions emailed to them, it was put together quickly. I highly recommend Decks by Larry's service!
Sean put together a dresser for me that had approximately 1256784153 pieces. He got the job done in about 2 and half hours and was fair and reasonable in his pricing.
Steve assembled the furniture I had very well and he also, helped in fixing a piece that had parts missing. Would highly recommend him.
Had a hutch assembled and attached to current desk. Also had a two drawer filing cabinet assembled. On time and items assembled well. There was an issue with a couple of the doors in the hutch but was fixed the very next morning.
Adam (and his wife) assembled a large desk, hutch, bookcase and file cabinet I had purchased from Office Depot. His quote to assemble all 4 pieces was less than Office Depot wanted to assemble one piece. They did an excellent job too! I am very happy with their work. I will most definitely be hiring 2West again to do other jobs around my house. Great people too!
Highest rating, lowest price by about 50% compared to competitors, very respectful, fast (took less than an hour what has taken me 7 hours in the past), assembled my furniture perfectly, experienced, punctually right on time, came prepared, payment was easy, awesome service from an awesome man.
David did a great job with the assembly of my table and chairs. Was right on time and was very professional, would definitely use him again and highly recommend him for work.
Very professional! Did a great Job. I had him assemble patio furniture for me. Very nicely done. Was quick. Cleaned up all left over boxes, and place furniture where I wanted it. I would recommend him.
