We really enjoyed working with Chef Kevin. He developed a perfect (and very reasonable) menu for my mother’s 90th birthday party (a late afternoon reception). We had 50 people attending and he reassured me all along the way that the event would go well, and it did! Chef and his assistant arrived early, helped set up the room for better flow, arranged the food and punch tables, and added lovely special touches such as red roses and petals on the serving tables. Guests praised the food and my mother is still raving about the event. Many thanks to Chef Kev! We highly recommend him.

I contracted the company over the internet out off state, had one conversation with Brittany, arrived to the venue late the day of the party and unfortunately never got to meet her. However, I was truly in awe of what I saw. She had come in set up all the balloon decor. The guest were complimenting everything all night long. I was truly blown away and impressed. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.

We needed some balloons decorations and some entertainment ideas for my daughter’s 3rd birthday and Jan helped with both! She made an over-sized number 3 and a sculpture of a little pony and suggested balloons drop! Decorations turned out super cute, my daughter was very excited since she is big fan of little pony, and all the guests loved it too. We also ordered a balloons drop, and it was a lot of fun for both kids and adults. Kids loved it so much that they played with balloons for over an hour! It was awesome! So much happiness for both parents and children! Jan truly made our party a great success! I will be calling her again for next year.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Floyd's DJ services was! They were professional, paid attention to detail, kept the party live and got involved with the crowd. My husband threw me a 40th birthday party and they really added to the specialness of my celebration. Everyone commented on how wonderful the music was and they accommodated guests requests as well as my special requests. To top it all off, I had an all green affair and they had beautiful green up lights for me and the DJs wore green too. I thought that was so nice and thoughtful to dress the part. At the end of the night both DJs engaged in nice conversation with my husband and I as they were breaking down their equipment. I was well pleased with their service and am going to recommend them for another event later in the year. If you need a DJ, go with Floyd's DJ service. I promise you will not be disappointed!

I have known Suzy for years now and throughout those years she has always been a planner. I have witnessed her plan everything from simple birthday gatherings to bachelorette parties and bridal showers for friends. When I needed an event planned, asking Suzy to help plan was a no brainer. Angie of Honey Do Wedding and Event Planners was one of the best decisions we made throughout our wedding planning process. She was affordable (especially for a student and military wedding) but always made us feel like her number one clients. Not only was she a great value, but she went over and above what we were expecting. We hired her to be our day of coordinator, but we met with her on a regular basis and she always responded to all calls, texts, and emails. Angie is incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and has connections with various other wedding vendors. As a same sex couple, she never treated us any differently than an opposite-sex couple, and she actually was great at recognizing the subtle differences that come with having two brides. At our first meeting at a potential venue, Angie came prepared with examples of her work and binder with all of our info. She even printed out new forms that said bride and bride instead of bride and groom. These small but significant touches are what make Angie stand out among other wedding planners. She helped us negotiate with vendors to get better prices and confirmed all vendors the week of, lifting a lot of the stress off of our shoulders. We can't speak highly enough of Angie and the Honey Do family!

I hired Coast to Coast Event Staff to help me with a 40th birthday party for 40 guests. Dee answered the call when there was less than 7 days to the event. I originally asked for a bartender and an event helper to assist on the party day...I planned to do the rest on my own! Dee offered some helpful suggestions and worked with me to stay on budget. By the end her team created a stunning 3 tier cake and cake pops that matched my photo perfectly (with a 2 day deadline) - ordered/pick up/delivered food from my favorite restaurant - provided all party supplies - balloons - candy display - set up and cleaned up! That part might be easy but it was the customer service and level of communication that earns 5 stars. Dee took the worry right out of my hands. Anthony and Christie were professional and a fun addition to the party. I felt like a princess without breaking the bank and each and every guest left with a smile. Planning for a West Point graduation is like planning a destination wedding for royalty. The weeklong pomp and ceremony of the cadets graduation and commissioning as an army officer on a highly secure and secluded army base requires months of planning. Some plan a year out. Booking hotels, helping guests navigate the campus, getting on and off base and through security check points, transportation to West Point and then around campus and town, planning for meals, seating at events, securing a spot for the commissioning ceremony, is not for the faint at heart or for amateurs. I hired a professional wedding and party planner. She booked lodging and reception hall, secured transportation service to and from post, arranged for breakfast food and snacks during commute to post, meals to be delivered to post for commissioning ceremony and food for our private reception back at the hotel. She had maps and program booklets with details of the events of the day and activities during free time. She thought of it all and executed it without a hitch. Meanwhile, I was able to enjoy the festivities of my son’s graduation and commissioning and enjoy the company of my guests. It was a memorable occasion. Working with EA was amazing... from start to finish. Their responsiveness, their professionalism and their vision--had me from day one. From the time of first contact, Shavonna calmed me and reassured me that EA could turn my vision into a reality. We hired EA for event design--and they did just that! Every picture I sent and every idea I conveyed was implemented to the fullest extent. EA received kudos from my venue and my wedding planner for their efficient manner for getting the job done, as well as the exquisite design details. When my new hubby and I were introduced, as we walked into the ballroom, I literally cried. As a bride, planning for months, you can never imagine just HOW it will all pull together--your vision, your ideas, your dreams--that makes you so very nervous. Lisa is a down-to-earth creative party planner, who offers creativity and pragmatism all at the same time. She will make suggestions, and help you remember details, but is not pushy about it. She will help you throw the party you want. I hired her only to help with the actual party itself, and not with the planning. Then, we encountered a delinquent hotel event coordinator who wouldn't respond to my requests or provide any assistance, and Lisa ended up mostly taking over to get things done, and done right. She is all about the details, so you don't have to be. Lisa was a life saver!

When my now wife and I set out to plan our wedding, we were one of those couples who thought hiring a planner was unnecessary. We had roughly 6 months to pull it off. We fancy ourselves as reasonably intelligent and financially responsible people and we thought that was plenty of time. Fast forward 4 months. The stress began to mount and panic had set in. Our budget is dwindling. We broke down and decided to hire a day-of coordinator. Better late than never, but who do we call? Every one we spoke to was either way too expensive or not the right fit personality wise. Thanks to Thumbtack, we found Vanessa. We are incredibly happy we did and we couldn't have pulled off our awesome wedding without her. Here's just a few of the reasons why: 1) Attitude - She has the PERFECT demeanor for event planning. She kept us on track, but was never pushy. Very personable and easy to talk to. Every time we spoke to her we felt both at ease and motivated to check more off of our list. 2) Creativity - Simply put she has great ideas. Whether it was decor, logistics, floor planning, etc., she listened to our inputs (which weren't always in lockstep - welcome to married life) but put here own spin on things. Our wedding was weeks ago and we still are getting comments on how beautiful everything was. 3) Contacts - Vanessa made great recommendations for vendors, and didn't do so based on any kickbacks or financial gain to herself. In fact, we had one vendor who was somewhat flaky that we had already booked. She was able to line up a "just in case" vendor for us. 4) Organization - Nothing fell through the cracks and she thought of small details we didn't have the capacity to (because we were too busy being crazy pants). 5) Value - She is worth every penny and I would argue she is a bargain for the service she provides. This is especially in comparison to other planners out there. If you need help planning an event, not just a wedding, we highly suggest you reach out to Vanessa @ Little Black Book. You absolutely will not regret it.

The communication and hiring process was prompt and professional (way more than I have experienced with competitors in the past) and went smoothly and seamlessly. The bartender and server arrived on time (early actually!!), were professionally dressed and did a very good job throughout the night. The only thing that I could have asked for to give a 5 star rating was for both to be more proactive in their roles. The girls were both great, but I would have loved for them to sort of lead the way - we do not often hire people for our parties and would have loved for them to be more self reliant. That is minor really - I would definitely use Impeccable Occasions again and would recommend to friends!

Having Michele and Laura work our annual Holiday Open House was a real game changer in how I will entertain from now on! I am a veteran party giver and love to entertain, but I need good, hands-on professional, responsible help during the event so I can relax and enjoy the party. With "We Plan- You Party" I was able to do the cooking and much of the planning for our Annual Holiday Party, then turn the aprons over to Michele and Laura with complete confidence. Since I enjoy the cooking and planning but hate the clean-up, they were perfect. Michele and Laura came in and very efficiently set up the food and bar areas, greeted guests, kept the place picked up, dishes and glasses washed, and replenished food and beverages during the event. As things wound down and after, they put leftovers away, packaging them for the freezer and fridge, cleaned everything up, party glassware was clean and boxed up for storage, plates and platters washed, dried and stacked for storage,they put table linens in my laundry room, even blew out the candles...all while I put my feet up and had a nightcap and plate of food with Hubby and the last few hangers-on. When they left the kitchen was cleaner than they found it. And , all the while, they were personable,relaxed, professional and sweet! Aaaaahhhh. Perfect party! Initially Lynn was supposed to be my event decorator, in charge of the flowers and décor for my wedding. However, after only a few meetings, my husband and I were so impressed with how she went above and beyond her role, that we immediately asked if she could be our wedding coordinator…and we’re so glad she said yes! Throughout the planning process Lynn was organized, detail-oriented, and always present. Since my husband and I work in NYC, it was difficult for us to find time to come down to DC to meet with wedding vendors. Lynn was always so gracious and would offer to meet with them on our behalf. Prior to our rehearsal dinner, Lynn met with the wedding party and went through individual timelines for everyone.
