Eagle Home improvements did a fantastic job repairing a pipe that burst due to faulty labor from my home builder. They showed me the damage, repaired it quickly, and ensured I knew how to properly shut off the water in the future. I will definitely use them again in the future. They were easy to work with and communicated clearly through Thumbtack throughout the process. I wish every service provider were as easy to work with as Eagle Home.

I had a gas fireplace installed two years ago. Another contractor did the basic frame and sheetrock around the fireplace but didn't finish the job. Jenrri met with me in person to assessed the job and give a quote for the work. Jenrri was pleasant and professional and my two Westies both liked him. If they didn't like him I wouldn't have hired him. He said the front area around the firebox would need to have the sheetrock replaced with cement board. I was glad he knew this because not having the right materials could be a fire hazard. After meeting with him. I decided to hire him and planned for him to come Feb. 16-19, 2016 to do this job. He did this job with another worker named Melby. Jenrri and I had to buy materials from the store the first day, but Melby stayed and started working. He removed the sheetrock and also cut boards for the shiplap look I wanted on the upper front and sides of the fireplace. Jenrri and Melby completed cutting and installing about half of the boards the first day. They laid tile on the hearth and around the firebox. I had picked large tiles for the hearth and small tiles to go around the firebox. The small tiles took more time to cut and install. Some of the tile around the firebox doesn't lay completely flat because of the screws for the cement board and because the framing around the firebox wasn't level. If I had to pick again I would have picked larger tiles to go around the firebox. They would have been easier to install and wouldn't have shown that the firebox wasn't completely level. After the tile and boards were installed they painted all the boards and the two walls on each side of the fireplace. Then installed the mantle and touched up the painting. They did a very nice job cleaning up when the work was done and even put furniture and a rug back in place. They also completed the job on time. I am happy with my finished fireplace. It looks beautiful. Both Jenrri and Melby work hard and do a good job. Maybe if Jenrri did the whole project instead of finishing someone else's work it would have been perfect. I would hire him again and I would recommend him to others.

My wife and I recently bought a house in Bristow VA. The previous owners did not have a fence or a deck. I started calling builders around the area and began getting estimates. Ty came by one evening and was very down to earth and honest with us. He gave us a great quote and explained everything that he and his guys would do. More importantly he told us what they would not do, which left us with no illusions of what would be done. Guys showed up when they were supposed to and completely their work right on time. They ran into a lot of issues with the soil in our yard but they pushed through and completed the work without trying to renegotiate the price quoted. I thought this said a lot about their character and ethics. The deck and the fence turned out great! we love everything about them. The level of workmanship is very good. My whole family feels safe on the deck and the fence is as sturdy as they come. Ty and his crew are not a big company. They will not come in uniform and they drive an very old truck with no advertising on it. I say this as a good thing. It all overhead that they don't have to pay which i'm guessing is why the prices are so good. If you are looking for a big company feel, these are not the guys. I would choose these over any of the big fence and deck companies out there. I will hire these guys again!

Patrick's work quality and creativity are fantastic. He created custom shelves for us in a bathroom that didn't have storage, and the result is beautiful and functional and exactly what I wanted. I also asked him at the last minute to mount our TV over the fireplace, and he came MORE than prepared, with extra cables and parts, in anticipation of getting the TV up on our plaster walls but also minimizing the appearance of the cords. He's also extremely punctual, responsive, and professional. Highest of recommendations from me, and can't wait to work with him again on our next project!

If you’re in need of a reliable, honest and get-it-done general contractor for your home remodeling needs, Al and his crew are the GO TO GUYS! We recently had a rather large basement remodel project where we took an unfinished space (approx.. 900 sq. feet) to a home office/ dental laboratory finish. There were a lot of moving parts involved – all new electrical/ mechanical/ plumbing; installation of egress & small sliding window(s), walk-out door w/ retaining walls and pavement; added bathroom & work/equipment room. Al took the design plans from a paper to presence, and really worked with us to stay on time and on budget. From the initial consultation, he took his time to go over details of the project and provide us with a written proposal on the spot. What was also appreciated was that he used upgraded materials rather than standard builder supplies, which really makes a huge difference in appearance! Al and his guys are meticulous, detailed & very clean – at the end of each work day, the floors were always swept & materials put away. Another consideration for us was trust since my husband & I weren’t home during the day. I can say with complete confidence that you can trust Premier Home Services to do their job, in your home without supervision. We will definitely use them again for our next home project. Thanks Al!

Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.

Edgar helped get our new home ready for move in. The biggest part of the job involved creating a master bedroom closet from 2 dark cramped closets. His team also painted the whole interior. The team did a very good job on both these tasks but Edgar's extra value really comes in the close attention he pays to all the little details. He discovered and fixed innumerable other maintenance chores that would have caused us big problems later. For example he alerted us to condensation problem and a water heater leak. He is punctual, conscientious, professional and pleasant. His prices are good; he responds flexibly to unforeseen developments and delivers on time. We're thrilled with his work on our new home and definitely will ask him back to help with our next project.

Yony was fantastic and I will gladly have him back to my home to do additional work. I'm in the middle of home renovation and hired Yony to install new baseboard molding and shoe molding, install new threshold transition pieces to two custom openings to the kitchen, and custom work to fix a door frame/jamb/trim that was ruined by a different contractor and to fabricate a custom linen/broom closet in an awkward dead space in my hallway. Yony knocked it out of the park, executing the job as described in the timeframe he said it would take. Others claimed the job would take 3 days and 3 people. Yony did it in 2 days, by himself. His price was reasonable and the quality of his work was high. He offered design ideas that I adopted and is a true professional that takes pride in the quality of his work.

Rob did a great job on our kitchen cabinets. We wanted to have the old exposed hinges replaced with (hidden) euro hinges and Rob was great to deal with through the whole process. We were having the cabinets painted by someone else and Rob even offered to sand down the doors for us to get us a better finish. He also offered to help us get hardware at a discount. He was so helpful, his prices were very reasonable and we would definitely work with him again.

This was our second time using Thumbtack and it was a great experience. We received multiple quotes for drywall work in our kitchen and bedroom to repair damage from a plumbing leak. The Langway brothers provided the best quote and had the experience and reviews to make us comfortable using them. We had guests coming in town so even though it was the holidays they rearranged their schedule and managed to come the very next day. Paul Langway performed the work and exceeded our expectations. In addition to doing a spotless repair job he also fixed some of the underlying issues which were not part of the original quote. He kindly did this free of charge. To have a contractor stick to their original quote and then do work above and beyond without charging more is pretty rare these days. It was also a pleasure to meet Paul and have him in our home as he is a great guy with which to interact. We will definitely use them again.

i had water damage in my basement, so i need mold clean up, replace the wall, new bathtub, new sink and vanity, the some minor handyman things to fix around the house, he even let me add in ceiling fans that was not part of the original work. Quality was/is great cant even notice that there was any damage, and updated the bathtub so it wont break like last one. he always answered my text when i had a question, he was always on time.. when he says he going to be there at 0700 in the morning you better be up cause he going to be on and the Value or Price was excellent, saving me a few $1000's had i gone through insurance or someone else. He is also my future handyman for anything :) Thank you so much for such a great job,

Marvin, his brother, and their employees were all wonderful. Their bid for our interior paint job--most rooms in the house, including bathroom and kitchen--was incredibly competitive, significantly lower than that of our other contractor who we had already hired to do some other structural work. Marvin was able to accommodate us according to our tight time-frame, so that the painting could be completed and the house deep-cleaned before move-in. They worked incredibly fast but were very proficient, and our other contractor even commented on how good of a job they did. In addition, they were incredibly nice, friendly, and Marvin was very clear and quick to respond to all communications. I highly recommend Marvin and R&D for any interior painting you may have, and will hire them again in the future!

Stuart is professional, polite, communicative and an easy going guy. He did an excellent job with renovating our hall bathroom. He turned our unfunctional and dated late 60's pink bathroom into a beauty. There were some unforeseen extra work that needed to be done because of the size of the bathroom and the age of the home which Stuart addressed properly. He works hard to get the job done right and we are so happy with the results, especially the kids! They're not afraid to use the bathroom anymore 😃 It was a pleasure working with Stuart and I would highly recommend him.

Hector was tasked to installed a new disposer and remove water damaged flooring and replace the flooring with plywood. The flooring replacement was especially tricky since it was in a corner with multiple angles. The result was terrific. There was one issue, however. Hector failed to remove the plug in the disposer, resulting in an overflowing dishwasher. I was able to remove the plug and all's well now.

I needed stairway railings installed to help me access basement and second floor after hip replacement surgery. This company did excellent work in satisfying the need. The design and installation were flawless. I will have them back to change the original builder supply rails as well. I am more than pleased. The company's owner while working for a home improvement company installed a deck for me some 10 years ago. He supervised the workers and the project was completed on time with no extra costs. People who see his work frequently lcomment with praise even after this length of time. Again I am more than pleased. I would recommend this gentlemen and his company to friends and neighbors without hesitation

I hired 4ord Tuff Home to install an exterior door. Their professionalism and attention to details is amazing. Not only did they install the exterior door correctly, but fixed the framing issue that the home builder failed to do correctly. I highly recommend them.

Mike's Drywall Service did an excellent job! Mike, his father, and his mom were very honest and straightforward people. Mike's father got the job done quickly, was very clean and tidy, and knew what he was doing. If you hire Mike's Drywall Service you will not be disappointed. My ceiling had a manufacture ceiling design in the basement, as well as in the Kitchen. Mike was able to texture the ceiling after cutting out damaged drywall from a leak, replacing it with new drywall, priming the areas that were stain, which did not get cut out, painting, and texturing both ceilings. Both ceilings had a different design, and Mike was able to blend the designs in with the rest of the ceiling after doing the repairs. I appreciate their service. Now a days it is hard to find an honest, reliable company, but you will find it in Mike's Drywall Service. :)

I turned to Nas Construction as a full service provider company. As a mother of 2 whom works a full time job, I find it very helpful to have someone take care of the process. Nas Construction took responsibility of everything, leading to the renovation of my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. They contacted the management company and ordered the materials. This allowed me to focus on other aspects of my life and not to worry about the construction. During the countertop installation, we had a bit of a glitch. The countertop cracked. I was panicking since I needed to cook and used my kitchen. Jhonathan totally took on the responsibility and apologized. I had a beautiful countertop installed in my kitchen in less than a week with the help of there materials dept. I was very pleased with the final results and the way I was treated. I recommend Nas Construction to those of us who need to renovate their kitchen or bath and cant afford to dedicate so much time to the process that leads to the construction and completion.
