Top Rated Jazz Drum Instructors Around Ashburn, VA
Our boys are really enjoying their guitar and drum lessons so far, and are excited about practicing and playing their new instruments.
I am very happy with my drum lessons with Andrew. He is a wonderful teacher, taking me further along each week, but not overwhelming me in the process. The company, 7DrumLessons is efficiently and professionally run (during the hours I am there) by Alex.
I have been taking lessons with Keith for over three years. He is an excellent instructor, and highly knowledgeable about drum technique and the music industry. He is a good listener who can hear where I am off on my playing and is capable of getting me back on track. It is a pleasure learning from him.
Guitar lesson for me and drum lesson for my daughter. Don was well versed, switched teaching styles and instruments quickly and i found his rates reasonable.
I was not positive that drum lessons would be something that my 10 yo son would want to continue for very long. Asher is the perfect teacher! He paces instruction perfectly for my son. Excellent and highly recommended!!!!!
I am a sound designer with a jazz vocal background. I have been teaching privately for 10 years. I encourage songwriting, self-accompaniment, and motivation to practice and create for one's self. My partner has been a drummer for as long as he can remember. He will be teaching the drum portion. We have a set in our music studio for the studio. It is highly recommended that the student has a set of their own or at least a drum practice pad. Our program is designed for growing children and high school students. We are also trained to help you with college audition processes.
I'm a young professional drummer with 17 years of experience in percussion. I got started in a school band and stayed sharp drumming in rock bands throughout high school, college, and even graduate school. These days, I tour the country as part of an indie/alternative rock duo. When I'm not on the road, I am available to give lessons for beginner- and intermediate-level drummers. My approach to drumming revolves around skill and enthusiasm for the craft. I owe much of my proficiency and success to a private instructor I had years back. I'm starting Proven Drum Lessons because I'm confident that I can make the same type of lasting positive impact on today's crop of students. For what it's worth, I'm also an economist with a Master of Science degree from a prominent research university. Hence, the intersection of my background and experience makes me uniquely qualified to offer perspectives on the financial side of life as a musician. This could also be of some use to an aspiring drummer. My pricing is reasonable and I'm a punctual, friendly, and reliable person. I've also developed patience, having taught economics to undergraduates at the university and community college levels. On a good day, I'd like to think I'm also a cool guy and someone to look up to. If you or someone you know is looking for lessons, reach out! I'd love to start a discussion. Kevin Founder, Proven Drum Lessons
Although we ultimately decided my nearly 3-yr-old son is still too young for drum lessons, the lesson went well. Marty reviewed the names of the different drums in a drum set, let my son play them some, and then tried some rhythm exercises by clapping and counting. He is very patient and good with children.
We have used Dominic Thompson, Sr. at our services and he has been so professional. Always on time and he goes over and beyond what is asked. We needed our drums tuned and he did it with no hesitation because excellence is what he is about. You won't be disappointed with this young man.
I do drum set and snare drum lessons including sticking, stick control, technique, double bass, time, rhythm and meter. Thank you for your interest. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
John Sayre is the deal. Great player, solid mentor, knows how to teach, and gets along with everyone--real nice, sincere guy. He knows how to get beginners excited and skilled, and he knows how to push young professionals. A go to teacher on drums and percussion.
Frankey has been the drummer for our church over the last seven years. He has matured into a very gifted drummer. He is reliable, conscientious, professional, and a great musician.
I am a professional, freelance musician working out of Rockville, MD, and I teach lessons to aspiring musicians of all skill levels. I have held permanent or extra/substitute positions with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, River City Brass Band, Canton Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, New World Symphony, and National Philharmonic.
Mike is an amazing teacher! He is incredibly knowledgable and is willing to work with you where you are. I was around 34 when I started taking drumming lessons with Mike and didn't know much about reading music. It was my first time holding drum sticks and within the first two lessons I had a good understanding of how to read notes and apply what I've learned practically. Within the first couple of months I was doing well and could pretty much understand how to dissect a song, play along and keep up with the pace. My questions were always answered and he worked with me so well whenever I was stuck. Beyond teaching music, Mike very encouraging has an impressive ability to work through intellectual obstacles, equipping his clients with the tools they need to keep progressing and moving forward. I WISH I had starting working with Mike when I was a young kid, but he was probably not born yet...and two continents away. I wholeheartedly recommend this teacher!!!!!!! If you have an opportunity to work with Mike, take it!
10/10 Great drum lessons that cater to my style and needs for 10 plus years now!
Great teachers! Both of my kids learn from Steve Pae, one on guitar and the other on drums. They love having lessons with him. We can't wait until the next recital!!!
Tom is a very good drum teacher. My 13 years old son enjoys playing drum and taking lessons from Tom. I'm glad I have found him. Thank you!
Sewell Music Conservatory has been the leader in music education for over 50 years. Founded in 1952, we have produce musicians that have reached international fame. We specialize in American music (Jazz, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, etc.), and our motto is "We Bring Out the Music in You".
Have you ever heard of a bad song with a totally awesome drum part? No. I can teach you to teach yourself how to be the best you can be. If you're good already, I can help you get better. My rates are completely negotiable. I want you to learn. Let's play drums!
I am over 30 years old and went to Miles with zero musical knowledge let alone any experience playing the drums. Miles reaches that perfect balance of being patient and pushing me to learn more. He has introduced information to me at a rate that is appropriate and takes the time to work through the musical concepts with me. At the same time he knows when to push forward with more challenging aspects of playing the drums to get the most out of our lessons. Miles is clearly very knowledgeable and talented and I recommend him highly if you are looking for drum lessons.
Teachers play along with students as they learn the basics, so lessons are fun by default. Students in the city also get access to a practice room and a comfortable metro-accessible space in the middle of DC where they can meet other musicians to play with.
