I needed to have 3 Ikea kitchen cabinets assembled & hung on the wall as a floating credenza below our wall mounted tv. Cesar was on-time & professional. He cut out the back of the center cabinet to allow access to the electrical outlet & HDMI cables. I highly recommend Cesar & will contact him for my future projects.

Eagle Home Improvements (Hi Solutions) did a superb job replacing a leaky outdoor faucet and installing a new shut off valve inside my home. I had the same work done in another part of the house last year but Eagle charged me 30% less than the other plumbing company! I was very please with the great work they did at a reasonable price. I plan to use them again in the future and highly recommend them!

Wow, where do I start- 1st job -I found RJ on thumbtack and his bid was the best for TV mounting a flat screen- scale of 1-5; he got a 5. 2nd job- ceiling fan and chandelier installed, 5. 3rd job- picture hung 20 ft from floor to wall-perfectly hung,he got a 5. 4th job-pending to replace my entire kitchen floor with ceramic tile. Before I have any work done, I call RJ first to see if he can do the job, so far, my hubby and I are very pleased with his work and those of his associates-who by the way was recommended by RJ to replaced all the carpet upstairs- that was a great job. Again, outstanding service, friendly, professional and fairly priced on all fronts. BJ & Randy Terry

I highly recommend EBRR and team to everyone. The team was always professional and on time. Ed Bilo takes great pride in his company and it is obvious he enjoys his work. The team was always sure to make certain the finished product was exactly what we wanted. EBRR is a one-stop shop- they are skilled in so many areas of property maintenance. We had them do flooring, outdoor landscaping, post construction cleaning and concrete repair. Ed Bilo was happy to help with whatever type of work we needed done around the house and provide ideas and expertise. We will be inviting them back to do future projects in our home without hesitation.

Sam Axton of Axton Handyman Services has been working for me for over 5 years on many large and small projects. These have included: Vinyl Flooring, Carpeting, Laminate Flooring, Indoor Furniture-grade Carpentry, Electrical Wiring, Decks, Fireplace Hearth Installation, Utility Building Construction, Exterior Door Replacement, Caulking, Drywall, Painting, and Staining. Every job has been done to my complete satisfaction and at a very reasonable price. Most importantly, Sam has always given me a good estimate of how big a job is likely to be and has always finished it at about the estimated cost (in dollars and/or hours). He is also very good about telling me when he thinks a job is outside his capabilities. (Not many are.) I have no reservations about recommending Sam for your next Handyman project. The best way to make use of Sam's many skills is to save up a list of projects so he has enough work to fill at least a day or two.

Kitchen back splash: I was hesitant to hire someone from just reading online reviews and now I am glad that I picked Erick to work on this project. Erick and I agreed to pricing and timing. He gave very reasonable pricing, provided guidance for all material that was needed to be purchased, and showed full commitment during the project. he was very professional and punctual. He took ample time to ensure everything was completed with excellent quality and to our 100% satisfaction. Erick used his brother's help during this project and made my kitchen look very stylish. I am attaching some pictures that I took during the project. I will add more pics for finished work product.

The team at Langley did an awesome job. They redid our our wood floors and fireplace and added a dry bar. UE has the experience and ability to vision and communicate what is possible and he provided a lot of suggestions (on the high and low end of the cost spectrum). The result was better than we imagined. A few items that needed to be fixed once it was done, which is normal for this type of project, were remedied quickly. Unfortunately, were rushed for time and should have made time for a sit-down meeting to talk through everything in detail before we proceeded which would have helped in reducing some back and forth. Even so, UE was very responsive. We plan to use them for other projects including our complete kitchen remodel/redesign in several months. Highly recommend them.

Yony was fantastic and I will gladly have him back to my home to do additional work. I'm in the middle of home renovation and hired Yony to install new baseboard molding and shoe molding, install new threshold transition pieces to two custom openings to the kitchen, and custom work to fix a door frame/jamb/trim that was ruined by a different contractor and to fabricate a custom linen/broom closet in an awkward dead space in my hallway. Yony knocked it out of the park, executing the job as described in the timeframe he said it would take. Others claimed the job would take 3 days and 3 people. Yony did it in 2 days, by himself. His price was reasonable and the quality of his work was high. He offered design ideas that I adopted and is a true professional that takes pride in the quality of his work.

I hired Patrick for a kitchen backsplash and a bathroom wall tile install. I wanted to make sure I came here to provide some feedback on his exceptional work! We all know it is very hard to find a good pro who can do the job in a reasonable amount of time with an affordable rate. Well Patrick & his team surpassed all my expectations. His work is very detailed and he takes his time to make sure things are done correctly. He even pointed where I should add some backsplash(back of fridge wall) that I never thought of. If you need any tile work, do yourself a favor and hire Patrick. He is punctual and did the work as promised with no fuss or mess! Thanks you Patrick..you are my "tile layer" for life. :)

Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.

I needed someone to refresh and re-design my laundry room (if you can even call what I had a room!). Patrick came over to look at the present situation and the surrounding areas. Within a very quick time, he visualized a design, analyzed the pragmatics, and suggested in a clear and reasonable fashion a possible alternative. I had had no ideas of my own, but I knew a change was necessary. I liked his ideas and his quote was reasonable, and so I decided to proceed. Patrick dove in, repurposing old materials from the minor demolition, as well as acquiring new, appropriate, and improved materials. He was creative, hard-working, conscientious, problem-solving, responsible and timely, and always excellent with his clean-up. And his skills were versatile: carpentry, painting, minor wiring and moving of light fixtures, minor plumbing and moving of plumbing fixtures. The result was fantastic aesthetically and way more comfortable than the original layout. Additionally, the surrounding areas were improved, as the flow was changed, i.e. one now loops through the laundry room area from two entrances. I am thrilled with the new space and Patrick was a pleasure to work with. It is rare to find someone of his talents, spanning from construction knowledge and hands-on home repair to final decorating vision and implementation. I highly recommend Stare's Restorations.

Al & his team were amazing to work with! As a first time home buyer/owner I had a ton of questions and concerns but Al was incredibly helpful, answered all my questions and took the time to work with me to get my renovations exactly how I wanted them. Al was super knowledgeable, patient and helpful across a wide variety of areas. The team took out a wall to create a more open floor plan, re-finished my hardwood floors, expanded & customized a closet space and tore out and replaced the kitchen floor. He went above and beyond to find flooring that would match the original hardwood in the rest of the house. Perhaps what was most impressive though was the time he took to discuss materials, project progress, future projects, ideas and other tips with me - I felt involved in every step and I learned a lot! Overall - knowledgeable, easy (and fun!) to work with, clean & quick team - I highly recommend working with Premier Home Services! I know I will be using them for my next project!

Cesar and his team gutted our entire bathroom, retiled the tub area and floor, and replaced all the fixtures, medicine cabinet, lighting, etc. They also installed a new fan and recessed lighting in the tub area and primed and painted the bathroom. The bath now looks like something out of House Beautiful. This was BY FAR the easiest reno we've ever done. Cesar and his assistant provided the labor and he gave us a very detailed list of everything we would need to purchase. He recommended a tub and ceiling fan and told us how to order large items from Home Depot so they would be in the "pro area" for his pickup. We investigated granite counter tops and picked out the slab and sink we wanted but Cesar saved us a fortune by picking up the counter top from the fabricator and installing it himself - perfectly. The job was more difficult because the opening for the vanity was a non-standard 47 1/2 inches and vanities come in 48 inches, but they completed everything flawlessly. Cesar and his team arrived at exactly 8 AM every morning and were immaculate about cleaning and bagging refuse. We received estimates from companies who do all the buying and installing and they were $5000-7000 more! Even the all-labor estimates were higher. Cesar did an amazing job, was totally reliable, and saved us a fortune.

My wife and I had a great experience working with Erick. He did great work on several projects in our house -- finishing the garage, painting rooms, and installing a kitchen backsplash. We were initially looking just to do some work in the garage, but were so impressed with the quality of Erick’s work and his commitment to doing everything to very high standards that we asked him if he could do the other projects -- and expect we'll do that again in the future. Here were some things that stood out the most: -- Transparent and helpful. Erick provided detailed explanations about cost; sent photos of paint or products from past projects so we could see different options; and always explained things like why a particular paint or caulk or some other product would or wouldn't work well and how they would affect cost. We made choices about all those things and never felt like we were being pressured into anything. -- Highly responsive. Some contractors who gave us estimates were slow to respond. Erick would almost always text or email back right away. That helped not only as we were making decisions on the front end about cost and materials, but also when we needed reassurance that we hadn't picked something dumb or just wanted to make sure we understood the schedule for the next day. -- Careful and clean. The paint applied in several rooms -- including three with high ceilings -- has sharp lines and looks great. The backsplash is carefully measured and straight. Erick was a perfectionist about little things like smoothing the ceiling in the garage and making sure the caulk lines above the backsplash were sharp. He noticed and pointed out little imperfections that we didn’t notice ourselves and then fixed them. And when each job was done, our house was actually cleaner than when we started. Erick carefully covered floors and furniture, cleaned kitchen surfaces, and swept and vacuumed. We had a great experience!

I hired Antonio (Tony) Sanchez from Renaissance Restoration to complete a kitchen renovation this past fall (sorry I did not get around to completing this review sooner!). I did all the demolition, but the job included lights and electrical, plumbing repair, cabinet and counter top install, appliance install, and painting. Tony gave a very reasonable estimate and personally worked on my project with his assistant from start to finish as opposed to having one of his employees complete the job. As he began the job, he soon realized that virtually nothing from the original construction was square (townhouse was built in 1987). However, that did not phase him as he had the skills to adjust making those imperfections unnoticeable in the end. In addition, Tony has skills in most of the trades which meant that he did not have to sub different parts of the job out; he did all the electrical, plumbing and carpentry himself. The best part of my experience working with Tony was that he discussed and explained different options or ways of completing a task to ensure there were no surprises, and I was impressed with his willingness to even teach me a little along the way. He was flexible in allowing me to have a friend install the tile floor and was understanding of my need to stick to a rather tight budget. There are only two comments I could make for overall improvement: cleanliness and timeliness. On a couple of occasions, I had to discard empty food containers and drinks that had been left behind. I attributed this to oversight and could be easily improved by making an effort to clean up the work site after each day of work. Considering it was not a space I was using though, it was not that big of a deal. As for timeliness, the project took longer than expected to complete. However, I know that my involvement did have some impact on the schedule and the fact he was doing the work himself while still managing other jobs is a factor. I would not hesitate to bring Tony in for another project in the future. I am completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him to anyone.

Somehow while fumbling around in the kitchen, I got a fork stuck in my garbage disposal. I tried for weeks to pull it out, to no avail. Edward came by and got the fork unstuck in record time. He was willing to work around my busy schedule and provided his services at a very fair price. I would definitely reach out to him again for future home improvement needs.

Viva Contractor replaced our old warped basement drop-ceiling with a new drop-ceiling, and replaced the old heavy fluorescent light fixtures with new lightweight LED lighting. The manager spent a great deal of time with us in his free quote visit, assessing everything in detail and explaining various alternatives as well as the county's permitting process. His quote was received promptly and was well below other contractors that visited and quoted us. He even checked with the county inspector to make sure that the brand-new model of lights he was recommending to us had been designated as up to code. He also checked in with me periodically during our contractor selection process, without applying any pressure. The job was performed by a team of two ceiling specialists, two electricians, and a foreman. This in-house team (nothing was farmed out) worked well together. Our quote estimated 5-7 working days, and the job was completed in six. The basement was full of shelves etc. that had nowhere to go, so the team had to work around a great deal of stuff without damaging anything. The very personable head electrician frequently consulted with me to present alternatives as work proceeded, with no attempt to up-sell me, and frequently said "Okay, we'll do it that way, and if you decide you don't like it we'll be happy to change it". The foreman did a couple of extra things for us that I didn't even ask for. The manager came out for a look while the job was in progress, and did a walkthrough with me at the end and performed some final touch-ups himself. We are very happy with the end result. Two small opportunities for improvement: 1) the plastic sheets covering the shelving occasionally slipped off and the ceiling workers kept working, meaning the shelves and contents got dirty in a couple of instances (but most stayed clean); and 2) the team members arrived and departed at unpredictable times, and there were times that we didn't know who was coming when, whether things were proceeding to plan, and what was to be done next. An end-of-day recap and look-ahead each day would have been helpful. But all got done in six consecutive weekdays; the price was an excellent value; the work passed county inspection with flying colors (the inspector praised the electricians' work); my possessions downstairs are intact; and the ceiling and lighting look great. And the extra touches are very much appreciated. We will use Viva Contractor again.

Hi, Richard and his Ramon complete this kitchen renovation for me 4 months ago. I've a little tardy in giving them my review but its better late then never. They did a wonderful job on my home renovation, though we had some communication issues in the beginning but you have to understand how these contractors work. It felt like forever but not having a kitchen can feel like forever. The complete my whole kitchen, mud room, first floor powder room, and upstairs bathroom within a month. My and my fiance area bit hands on, so we did choose and pick all the materials that you see in the picture and we bought most of the materials and had it delivered to the house. They are down to earth guys, and sometimes you have to hold them by the neck but they still did a wonderful job. Everyone loves the kitchen now and its going to give my house sell appeal when its that time to upgrade.

Martin Ramos promptly responded to me regarding my initial request for help with my leaking water heater located in Montgomery County, MD. He took a little over two hours to fix the leak and install a new kitchen faucet. He unexpectedly got the second job of installing the new kitchen faucet as I was impressed by his straightforward and no-nonsense manner of showing me essential options available to resolve my plumbing needs. Despite being on a very tight schedule, he was willing to fix my leaking water heater on the next day, a Saturday, beginning at 7:30 am, per my request, arriving on time. I certainly appreciated his timely response, as the leaking problem was accelerating from bad to worse, thereby showing his empathy and acceptance of a customer’s emergency needs, as well as his cleaning up of the areas where he had done his jobs. So far, his two works are fine and have not incurred any issue or problem. Thumbtack indicated that up to five professional plumbers would respond to my call for services. Eventually, I received only two: one was Martin Ramos whereas the other made no indication of being a licensed plumber. A larger number of responses would perhaps provide a larger pool of choices for us customers. As for Martin Ramos, I could be so carried away by his customer-centered approach of doing his business that I failed to see any serious shortcomings of his. Seemingly, nothing went wrong as I was not watching over his shoulders while he was doing his work. Perhaps he could do better if he would be willing to offer his returning customers a goodwill deal that will even be better than his current fees, which are already reasonable given his ample years of professional experiences and commendable services. Thanks to Thumbtack and Martin Ramos, I now can enjoy my water heater and new kitchen faucet sooner rather than later. I’ll return to Thumbtack in the future for help with other service needs and recommend Thumbtack to others.

Dominik is a nice guy. His pricing was better than most and the quality of work was good. The project dragged longer that initially estimated but the main issue I had with Dominik was that he was hard to get a hold. As far as schedule goes he overpromised and under delivered. This was a complete kitchen remodeling project that required different set of skills. In the end everything turned out fine and the kitchen looks great. I would recommend him based on the price and my belief that most likely I will have the same scheduling issues with most good contractors that don't brake the bank.

I have owned a Design Business for over 30 years dealing with both commercial and residential projects. I used Thumbtack to find a reputable contractor to renovate a kitchen for a new Client. As my reputation is very important and my work is only as good as the contractors I hire, it was critical I find an experienced contractor for the job. Raul came highly recommended. HE IS INCLUDED ON THUMBTACK, ANGIE'S LIST, AND LINKEDIN. He was prompt, so courteous to the Clients, professional, and completed the job on schedule. The job was left spotless at the end of the workday. And the quality of his work was amazing. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional who takes such pride in his work and I am looking for more projects to include his work because it enhances my own! THANK YOU, RAUL, See you soon!
