Absolutely amazing DJ and the ultimate professional! We booked DJ Sarg for our wedding reception and he did an incredible job! Nick met with us a couple of times prior to our wedding to help us organize our playlists and set up our schedule, which really helped the night run smoothly. The lighting package was also amazing and Nick handed out sunglasses to our groomsmen and glowsticks during the reception that were a lot of fun! All of our family and friends have told us how much fun they had and we owe that to Nick, who really set the tone for the night and even stayed longer than we booked to keep the party going! Everyone we spoke with since the wedding has said "the DJ was awesome!" We are forever grateful to Nick for making our night so special and would hire him all over again in a heartbeat! We highly recommend him and promise that you will not be disappointed!

By some divine intervention, my husband and I stumbled upon Denean's Party By Design at a time when we were having a number of problems with our venue. Denean and her team were truly God-sends! Denean is thorough, detail-oriented, understanding, and so kind. She was so pleasant to deal with throughout the process. My husband and I had an inter-faith (Jewish and Catholic wedding) - Denean took the time to learn all the traditions and customs to make sure everyone's customs were honored. Denean also went above and beyond to ensure that our venue accommodated an entirely gluten free wedding. Any request that I made - no matter how obscure or small - Denean exceeded. On the day of the wedding, Denean and her team kept everyone on track, calm, and organized. Denean set up the venue beautifully, taking care of every last detail down to the placecards and photo arrangements. Additionally, she made sure we had zero issues with the food. The day ran so smoothly. My husband and I had to do nothing but enjoy the day. Hiring Denean and her team was the best decision we made, period!

My husband and I hired Floyds DJ Services for our May 13, 2017, ceremony in Woodbridge, Va. Finding a DJ had proven to be my toughest task during the wedding planning phase. . . that is, until Kacey responded to my request for information. She's pleasant, easy to work with and was always responsive. The constant threat of rain for our outdoor ceremony has us wavering on whether we'd be outdoors or move the ceremony inside. Kacey remind flexible as we didn't make the final call until just hours before the ceremony was to start. We were lucky enough to have BOTH Kacey and her husband, DJ Unknown, for our ceremony and reception. He is a GREAT hype man, and together, they read the crowd and played the right mix of old-school jams (as I requested) and current Top 40 Hits (including a ton of songs from my personal playlist suggestion). DJ Kacey even got on the dance floor to lead the crowd into a line dance and help get the party started. Their sound system was super crisp and there wasn't a single glitch! We had selected a final song to be played, and when it came time, DJ Kacey and DJ Unknown surprised us with a PHENOMENAL send off by having our guests line up in a receiving line to end the day. Mary is the perfect wedding coordinator. She is very genuine and very in tune to every detail. My wedding day was stress free because she managed 180 guests and my entire bridal party along with other vendors. She was sensitive to the time and she provided agendas at each meeting. She went the distance at my wedding and truely sacrificed to be at meetings including the wedding rehearsal. I couldn't have ask for anyone better. After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.

Mrs. Robinson came to our home and explained 'exactly' what "Brides to-be'- does', she was also concerned with what our expectation's were for our wedding. We were so impressed with her kindness, her elegance, her organization skills and her ability to take the stress of planning off of my plate! She saved me so much stress!!! Rakita was instrumental in helping my husband pull of the best First Mother's Day a girl could ask for. He surprised me by hiring her to come to our home to cook for us, eliminating the stress of going out to eat somewhere nice with a 6-month-old. Rakita's menu choices were varied and suited to different tastes. My husband had a blue cheese crusted steak that he said easily ranks among the best of his life (and this man loves his steak). I had a lobster and shrimp dish over truffled risotto that was equally flavorful and praise-worthy. We shared a better-than-the-Melting-Pot cheese fondue, well-seasoned spring salads, and tasty strawberry shortcake. Wine and a bouquet of fresh tulips were included in the service, as well as the washing of all dishes used in the preparation of our meal. Rakita was friendly, yet very professional. She eliminated the awkwardness that could be associated with hiring a personal chef, and worked quickly in our kitchen while we relaxed. I especially appreciated this, as we had just come off travel and I was recovering from a less-than-pleasant illness. I'd highly recommend Rakita Lillard as a personal chef. She's a fantastic chef, and from what my husband says, comes in at an incredibly fair price point.

Angie of Honey Do Wedding and Event Planners was one of the best decisions we made throughout our wedding planning process. She was affordable (especially for a student and military wedding) but always made us feel like her number one clients. Not only was she a great value, but she went over and above what we were expecting. We hired her to be our day of coordinator, but we met with her on a regular basis and she always responded to all calls, texts, and emails. Angie is incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and has connections with various other wedding vendors. As a same sex couple, she never treated us any differently than an opposite-sex couple, and she actually was great at recognizing the subtle differences that come with having two brides. At our first meeting at a potential venue, Angie came prepared with examples of her work and binder with all of our info. She even printed out new forms that said bride and bride instead of bride and groom. These small but significant touches are what make Angie stand out among other wedding planners. She helped us negotiate with vendors to get better prices and confirmed all vendors the week of, lifting a lot of the stress off of our shoulders. We can't speak highly enough of Angie and the Honey Do family!

Reaching out to Jacqueline to be my Wedding Coordinator was one of the best wedding decisions that I made. I just recently for married June 24th, 2017 and from the beginning DMV event staffing we're on top of everything. Dee stayed in contact with me the whole time & she responded to any questions I had during this process. The best part was the bartender she sent sent me for my wedding. JAHRED was AMAZING!!! I could not have asked for such a wonderful bartender. He reached out to me ,introduced himself, answered any questions I had. He had such a warm soul. My family & friends loved him! He knew his Jon very well, was on point with everything, & with the bride being busy, he made sure not to forget about me. Will definitely be using DMV services again. Very satisfied customer. Smokers Delight was the perfect vendor for our family reunion. Brian arrived at the event 4 hours ahead of time to prepare the bbq and trimmings. He served the guest in a buffet style line while politely conversing with our guests. The food was AMAZING - well seasoned and well cooked. At the end of the event he cleaned up his food prep and serving areas and wrapped up the uneaten food for us to keep. His food and service was so good it became part of tree entertainment for the night.

Lisa is a down-to-earth creative party planner, who offers creativity and pragmatism all at the same time. She will make suggestions, and help you remember details, but is not pushy about it. She will help you throw the party you want. I hired her only to help with the actual party itself, and not with the planning. Then, we encountered a delinquent hotel event coordinator who wouldn't respond to my requests or provide any assistance, and Lisa ended up mostly taking over to get things done, and done right. She is all about the details, so you don't have to be. Lisa was a life saver!

I loved everything about working with Dianna of Catering reserved! From start to finish she delivered everything she promised, including delicious food! She was prompt, creative, and thorough in her proposal; she worked with me to refine my needs and I was very comfortable with my final decisions; Her pricing was affordable and fair and most importantly she promised there would really be enough food to feed everyone and there was! She promised it would be delivered on time (it was), that her staff would set it all up nicely without my help (he did!) and that it would be hot and delicious (and it was!). Nothing was forgotten; nothing was omitted. The serving utensils were there, the sterno, and the clear containers were perfect for serving the food in. I didn't need china serving dishes for my event, but Dianna does offer that and if my next event needs Catering Reserved's full service, I won't hesitate to use it. (Food plus waitstaff for setup and clean up.) I've never met Dianna in person, and I never tasted her food prior to hiring her for my very important event, but from our first conversation I just knew I could trust her, and I was right. I highly recommended her! Thanks to Catering Reserved, I got to visit with my guests and totally enjoy my "after-the-wedding" party.

When my now wife and I set out to plan our wedding, we were one of those couples who thought hiring a planner was unnecessary. We had roughly 6 months to pull it off. We fancy ourselves as reasonably intelligent and financially responsible people and we thought that was plenty of time. Fast forward 4 months. The stress began to mount and panic had set in. Our budget is dwindling. We broke down and decided to hire a day-of coordinator. Better late than never, but who do we call? Every one we spoke to was either way too expensive or not the right fit personality wise. Thanks to Thumbtack, we found Vanessa. We are incredibly happy we did and we couldn't have pulled off our awesome wedding without her. Here's just a few of the reasons why: 1) Attitude - She has the PERFECT demeanor for event planning. She kept us on track, but was never pushy. Very personable and easy to talk to. Every time we spoke to her we felt both at ease and motivated to check more off of our list. 2) Creativity - Simply put she has great ideas. Whether it was decor, logistics, floor planning, etc., she listened to our inputs (which weren't always in lockstep - welcome to married life) but put here own spin on things. Our wedding was weeks ago and we still are getting comments on how beautiful everything was. 3) Contacts - Vanessa made great recommendations for vendors, and didn't do so based on any kickbacks or financial gain to herself. In fact, we had one vendor who was somewhat flaky that we had already booked. She was able to line up a "just in case" vendor for us. 4) Organization - Nothing fell through the cracks and she thought of small details we didn't have the capacity to (because we were too busy being crazy pants). 5) Value - She is worth every penny and I would argue she is a bargain for the service she provides. This is especially in comparison to other planners out there. If you need help planning an event, not just a wedding, we highly suggest you reach out to Vanessa @ Little Black Book. You absolutely will not regret it.

Initially Lynn was supposed to be my event decorator, in charge of the flowers and décor for my wedding. However, after only a few meetings, my husband and I were so impressed with how she went above and beyond her role, that we immediately asked if she could be our wedding coordinator…and we’re so glad she said yes! Throughout the planning process Lynn was organized, detail-oriented, and always present. Since my husband and I work in NYC, it was difficult for us to find time to come down to DC to meet with wedding vendors. Lynn was always so gracious and would offer to meet with them on our behalf. Prior to our rehearsal dinner, Lynn met with the wedding party and went through individual timelines for everyone. During our wedding at the Dumbarton House, she was phenomenal in making sure everything flowed smoothly. She was very professional and charming, and our guests still comment on how great she was! I hired Michele Palmer to be my day-off wedding coordinator for my 220-person wedding, and I could not be more pleased with the services that Michele and her colleague, Debby, provided! FANTASTIC!!! The wedding day-off coordination service is more that just the "day-off" - Michele came out to the venue and went over details with me a month prior to the wedding, her and Debby attended the rehearsal dinner (and patiently waited for our tardy wedding party), and Michele was quick to answer any questions I had and give me advice in the months leading up to our wedding. During the actual wedding day, Michele and Debby made sure everything went smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Michele was also instrumental in providing me with great advice regarding asking my rental company for an early tent delivery - since it was expected to rain all week prior to our wedding. This ensured that the grass under the tent was relatively dry for our wedding day. I would 100% recommend Michele and her company to any future bride. Trust me, you need the help!!!

Working with EA was amazing... from start to finish. Their responsiveness, their professionalism and their vision--had me from day one. From the time of first contact, Shavonna calmed me and reassured me that EA could turn my vision into a reality. We hired EA for event design--and they did just that! Every picture I sent and every idea I conveyed was implemented to the fullest extent. EA received kudos from my venue and my wedding planner for their efficient manner for getting the job done, as well as the exquisite design details. When my new hubby and I were introduced, as we walked into the ballroom, I literally cried. As a bride, planning for months, you can never imagine just HOW it will all pull together--your vision, your ideas, your dreams--that makes you so very nervous. As we walked through the crowd to start our first dance, I remember thinking "it is literally dead-on...they nailed my vision dead-on..." I remember telling Shavonna prior that I couldn't imagine how all of my ideas would pull together--couldn't envision it... her response was "leave it to her--that was EA's job, that's why I hired them...so I could remove that concern off my plate" Once again...dead-on.... From the lanterns, to the Eiffel tower feather centerpieces, to the gorgeous linens to the spectacular feather bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages....I am forever grateful.... Many people tell you to prepare for something not to go right, or for something not to be perfect on your wedding day. However, I can honestly say, hiring EA will prove everyone wrong...your day will be amazing--far beyond what you ever dreamt possible--they will meet AND exceed your expectations! I had an absolute great experience with Leslie!! She coordinated my wedding on April 16, 2016. She was very attentive and even offered great ideas for our wedding. After our first meeting, I knew in fact, she would do great things for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, there was no stress of anything. Leslie and Crystal made sure everything was put together perfectly with the vendors (photo booth and my cake vendor) and hotel staff. Don't let the negative review make you hesitate to consider this company. I hired Bridgette and her staff for my daughter's wedding and I couldn't have been more pleased! The planning and execution of a wedding can be hectic so it was nice to know that Bridgette and her staff were getting things done behind the scenes. It made everyone's day smooth and enjoyable. It was such a pleasure working with Eleven Courses. As the wedding planner, I hired them based upon my client's taste to be our premier caterer for a tented wedding reception at Glenview Mansion on April 11, 2015. Eleven Courses not only worked with me throughout the whole process, (i.e. tasting, contract, and walkthrough at the venue) they were always very responsive to my questions. In all honesty, their blend of professionalism and friendliness immediately made me feel like I was part of their team. The day of the event, Eleven Courses went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfectly executed. They arrived on time, helped to set up the table linens, plates, glasses, etc. contracted out by the tent company. The presentation of the food was immaculate. The food not only looked great, it was delicious. As well, the food was more than enough to accommodate the guest count. The guests raved all night about the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres in the mansion, and the main entrees served during the reception. Clean up was also perfectly executed by Eleven Courses. Their staff of servers were excellent and very helpful, and our tandem coordination made things seamless. I am so excited to work with Eleven Courses again, and cannot wait to recommend them to my future clients. They will for sure be one of my premiere catering vendors! I was beyond pleased as a vendor, and individual. I am all about customer service and they are outstanding. Eric & Chrissy are beyond great, and down-to Earth individuals to work with. They also go out of their way to ensure that your vision for food at your event is executed. A big thank you!
