I offer both piano and guitar lessons to students from my home studio in Kansas City, MO (map on request) in the Raytown area, 15 minutes from Lee's Summit, Grandview and Overland Park. Lessons may also be given online via Skype or Facetime. I have morning, afternoon, and evening times available. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced students in both instruments are all welcome. I bring over 15 years in teaching experience in all styles of guitar and piano including rock, pop, classical, jazz, and country/bluegrass music.
Lessons are available in 30/45/60 minute weekly and bi-weekly sessions. Family discounts and a special homeschool rate cut may apply.
I specialize in the application of a fluid and dynamic set of techniques and a unique problem solving approach to musical growth.
Students learn music theory as applied to the keyboard, sight-reading, improvisation, and the application of classical technique to a wide variety of modern styles.
David studied classical piano with Tatev Amir and Karen Kushner, Adjunct Associate Professor of Piano at UMKC, and has taught privately for over 15 years. He studied classical guitar with Douglas Niedt, former chair of the UMKC Guitar Department and jazz guitar with KC jazz guitarists Jay EuDaly and Danny Embrey as well as jazz theory with flugelhorn player Stan Kessler.
