I am the type of person who hasn't ever really worked out. Sure I would walk on a treadmill or get waves of energy to do something here and there. This time, I decided I would need the help of a personal trainer to keep me focused, on task, and push me when I feel like I can't go further. Josh has gone beyond my expectations. I am not going to sit here and say that it is easy. He pushes you but does it with enough ease that you are not scared to come back. Your muscles will be in shock after the non-stop cardio but in the end, your body and mind will thank you. After all, that's why you are looking for a trainer right? It's not suppose to be easy. A trainer is there to give you the results you have always wanted. Josh accomplishes that with flying colors.
I've being working with Ken for the past three months and would very highly recommend him as a personal trainer. Right off the bat, Ken assessed my biggest weakness (balance) and over the span of a few weeks patiently built up my balance so that I was in a good position to move into more challenging exercises. Now, he's working with me in all my goofy awkwardness to make sure that I develop the correct technique while still getting a good sweaty workout. Ken also asks questions and listens. It's very clear he's aware of my fitness goals and completely supports them. He'll keep me on track without being intrusive (or judgmental) by asking important questions like "Did you do cardio today?" and "How's your food intake been?" More importantly, he's consistent with asking me how I feel every session and then modifies the workout to make sure I don't overtax any muscle groups or injure myself. And Guess what! I'm seeing amazing results! Better yet - people are noticing!! Since I starting working with Ken, my body fat has decreased by 4.73% and I've dropped 30 pounds! ... Watch out Little Black Dress - here I come :)
Abu is dedicated to me and my goals. He is my biggest cheerleader and taskmaster. He has pushed me to do things that I never thought I could do. Through a boxing/cardio program he developed for me, I have lost almost 100 lbs. He also worked with me to create a realistic food plan. I tell everyone about Abu's dedication to his clients. His workouts are NEVER easy, but ALWAYS effective, challenging and even fun. I've worked wit multiple trainers that walk you through a cookie cutter workout, and never moved the dial significantly. If you want results, doing something that you like (and you are dedicated to success), Abu is your man!
Great training experience! Look forward to the friendly gym environment and challenging workout every week!
Tony is an outstanding trainer! I came to him wanting to drop my gut and gain the muscle mass any guy wants to achieve. After meeting and seeing what I am capable of, he set me up with a great workout that combined the cardio and weight training I need to complete my goals. He's willing to help and listen to your needs and goals as long as you put forth the effort and discipline he's expecting. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get in shape.
I trained with Matt for about 3 years and would still be training with him had he not moved. Matt did a good job of keeping my workouts varied and challenging. When I was consistent with my weight training and cardio plus ate clean & with discipline, I was very successful with weight loss. When my diet was poor, I did not see weight loss, but was able to maintain my weight. My goals were weight loss, bone health, strength, balance and flexibility. I think the area where I made the least amount of progress was flexibility. Matt has a great sense of humor and is an all-around good guy.
Jon is a truly fantastic personal trainer. I have worked with him one on one and also in small group sessions. He listens to my goals, while also taking into account my personal preferences and limitations (lower back issues). He creates workouts that maximize my strengths, while helping diminish my weaknesses. His workouts are challenging, yet fun! I always leave my session with Jon exhausted, but always looking forward to the next time. Jon pushes you to your limit, but does it with the perfect balance of professionalism and humor. I'm looking forward to my next session!
I started working out with Cori in 2010 and only stopped because I moved away from Chicago. She's a terrific trainer who will constantly find ways to change things up to challenge you, keep things interesting and get results! She also knows a ton about nutrition and the best things to eat or avoid to achieve your goals, regardless of your dietary restrictions (I'm vegetarian and she never suggested I go paleo) - and will give you a solid plan for the rest of the week she's not kicking your butt. Major bonus: she's a super nice, fun person to be around - even when she has you doing burpees.
I am Jamie Spenner from Las Vegas, NV I had the best time at the HitchFit Gym May of 2010!!! I made arrangements through a few e-mails and a phone call or two to pay the Personal Training Fee, to work out at the gym with Diana, and that she would train me at an advanced level and actually video the workout to be posted to the Fast Track site as one of the regularly scheduled group workout videos! (What in the world did I get myself into?) So Saturday rolls around and I am driving to the Hitch Fit Gym. That was an adventure in itself! (Dont trust the GPS! It will lead you to an open lot!) So with a quick call to Diana and a few simple instructions I found the Gym much easier! I parked the car and ended up walking through the back door wandered through the gym to the front entrance and found the foyer was filled with photos, magazine covers, trophies and medals won by both Diana and Micah! Walk a little further and the wall is filled with so many before and after transformation photos of their clients! I peek into one area of the gym and see Micah working one of his clients doing what I call horse training where Micah has a strap around the waist of the client and holds him back on the reigns as he tries to run! Looks like a great strength cardio exercise! I go into the weight training area and Find Diana busy with a client on the calf raise machine, and it looks like another trainer is busy with a client on the pull up bar. So how would I describe the gym? I would call it an Oyster Farm where a small grain of sand is placed into an oyster and is worked over and transformed into a beautiful pearl! The oyster isnt much to look at from the outside but a lot of work goes on inside! The walls of the gym were filled with photos of the pearls that were transformed and polished! Enough for not only a beautiful multi-strand long necklace but a bracelet and matching earrings too! I am early so I wave to Diana and ask if I could walk around and take some photos while she is finishing up with her client, I get some good photos and a short video clip or two and then get onto the elliptical machine to get myself warmed up and loosened up and stretched out in preparation of my workout. The trainers all finish up with their clients, and I get called into the office, Diana starts her assessment of my physical abilities, asks about any medical problems and Micah and the other trainer are taking bets on how long it would take them to work me out and get me to puke! One says I can get him to puke in 10 minutes! Micah says he can do it in 7! Diana rolls her eyes and shoos them out as she continues with her assessment. Every trainer I work out with I learn something new, some tip or trick. This time I learn a little more about myself, and am told by Diana that I need to believe more in myself, to believe that I am! I need to not believe that I can, or making I will statements, that part is over for me now, it has served me well up to that point. I needed to believe that I am strong, believe that I am a body builder, and believe that I am the best! Using self affirmation, to believe that I am what I want to be. It is harder than you think. Try looking in the mirror and saying those things to yourself right now! So I got to meet Ellen who will be doing the camera work for the day! We all know Ellen The fabulous fitness model! (Ellen is drop dead gorgeous by the way) Little did I know that Ellen got to put together my workout by choosing every single difficult exercise that she knew! If you ever have a personal trainer laugh it isnt because something is funny or that you are doing great, it usually means they have thought up some new exercise to torture you with, and Diana was smiling and laughing through my whole work out! So after the workout I had some time to ask a few interview questions before her next client, and had to hit my protein shake and get back onto the elliptical machine to cool down and loosen up the legs a bit more! By the way my legs were screaming for 3 days after the workout! If I could share one thing with each of you that I learned from this experience, it would be for you to believe in yourself, never put yourself down, talk back to that little voice that says you cant, keep moving forward and transition from thinking you can, to making I will statements, to following through with your meals and exercise, to believing YOU ARE and becoming the best you possible.
Dhruv is very professional and knows the details. He helped me get back to better shape than I was. If you are willing to put in the effort through good diet and exercise, he's going to be there for you in every step of the way. He knows his stuff.
