FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My membership with MTNA and NAfME provide monthly meetings, periodicals, and networking that I take full advantage of in continuing my music pedagogy education. I love going to piano master classes and lectures! I am also an avid reader of Clavier Companion.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
PRIVATE LESSONS Piano students receive a 30, 45, or 60-minute private lesson weekly, except during the weeks of Master Classes and Studio Recitals. An individualized, comprehensive curriculum is developed introducing literature from all style periods. Theory, music history, tone and technique are integrated into each lesson. MASTER CLASSES These small, informal group classes provide an opportunity for performing by memory, theory/music history instruction, and camaraderie. Held approximately every 8 weeks, these 45-60 minute classes replace the weekly private lesson. PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES All students perform in the Spring and Winter Studio Recitals. Numerous competitive and non-competitive performance opportunities are also offered, and all students are encouraged to participate as is appropriate.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find a piano instructor who not only is an expert in their field and on their growing edge, but who has a passion for what they do and a warm heart. Your children will enjoy spending time learning from this kind of instructor.
