Matt is an exceptional instructor. I always look forward to my lessons with him and know I can trust him to help me build exactly the skills I need to improve as a dancer. He genuinely believes in people's capacity for growth and it shows. Whether he is helping me with west coast, salsa, bachata, waltz, or tango, he always manages to see my potential (even when I can’t) and when I struggle, he knows how to get the message across in a way that helps me get the most out of our lesson. Matt is well-versed in a wide variety of dance and music genres and translates the depth and breadth of his knowledge superbly in his pedagogical approach. I really enjoy getting to learn from him and would highly recommend him to anyone interested in the art and science of movement or looking to build self-confidence and enhance nonverbal communication skills in a fun and rewarding atmosphere.

Matt is a fun and (very!) patient instructor. Dancing with him feels smooth and effortless. He has a keen and intuitive ability to identify what a student is struggling with—whether in a particular move, or in his/her/their dancing overall—and has the nicest way of communicating to his students ways to improve. In an activity where it’s quite easy—especially as a beginner—to feel nervous or awkward, Matt makes his students feel comfortable and confident and takes genuine interest in their progress. I highly recommend taking lessons with Matt!
