We hired Jerry to do some drywalling, hang two doors, a pocket door, tile our laundry room and kitchen backsplash. He also did some custom cabinet work. At every step along the way we were impressed with his craftsmanship and attention to detail. He is easy to work with, kind, and honest. It was important for us to find a contractor like Jerry because past experiences with other contractors were not great. We liked that he didn’t take another job until ours was finished. We would definitely recommend that you use Jerry for your next project and we will definitely be going to him in the future.

I found JK on behalf of my sister in Alexandria, KY, and she specifically asked me to leave a 10-star review if that were possible. She was extremely impressed with the work and said he truly brought her vision to life. The home office project exceeded her expectations, and she is thrilled with the results. In fact, she is already planning additional projects because of how well everything turned out. The quality of the work, attention to detail, and overall experience left a very positive impression. I didn't want to forget to share her feedback. I can also provide photos of the completed project later if needed. Highly recommend!!! Highly recommended!

Working with Jerry was an absolute pleasure!! After he did a gorgeous master bathroom remodel we wanted him to do our 2nd story guest bathroom! This included moving the laundry room to guest bath upstairs. It is a beautiful bathroom/laundry room and he built the shelving for the washer and dryer that made the entire room look stunning! We then decided to hire him to build an pergola/shade structure and privacy screen to our back patio. His attention to detail and craftmanship is out of this world! His honest, professional opinion and design advice to our questions was very much appreciated, as he is a master of all trades! We are grateful for his hard work & would definitely recommend him to anyone looking!

We hired Jerry to completely a remote home remodel for us. We were in Chicago while Jerry was remodeling our home in Cincinnati- not an easy task, but he did an excellent job. His quote was more reasonable than others', and we also liked the fact that he only takes one job at a time (finishes start to end before taking on a new one.) He retiled our bathrooms, installed new vanities, new tub, and new fixtures, replaced granite countertops with quartz, painted, installed a new backsplash, added railings to our staircase, installed new light fixtures.. just to name a few. We highly recommend him and would hire him for more jobs in a heartbeat.

We had a water leak in the kitchen that ended creating a project that included: removing an old range, cutting some cabinets to fit the new range, patching, painting and wall papering. After no luck with reliability with another contractor, we tried Thumbtack and found Jerry. What a blessing in disguise that the others were flakes- he has been terrific! If you read other reviews and think, "This guy is too good to be true," don't worry; he isn't! He is just a rare breed! Where to start....first, he was very fair and reasonable on the price. Apparently there is an industry standard pricing guide that set process high (hence the sticker shock with everyone else). If he feels that it is unreasonable, he works down from there. His rate was reasonable enough that we could add in changing the title on our backsplash. But this does NOT mean quality is sacrificed. He is more than experienced and it shows. He is extremely neat (never leaves a mess), and his work is careful. A true generalist, he has ended up helping us with other problems that ironically occurred while he was here. I asked him to remove the sink for me so that I could apply some stone finishing to our counters, and he saw that our wiring for our disposal and dishwasher was not up to code (and it wasn't!). He fixed that. Our basement had water in it after rain one night; he helped up trouble shoot where the leak was coming from (it was from a crazy odd place, but he helped our insurance adjuster to find the leak! Our adjuster liked him too, btw). He also fixed a support on our porch that was cracking. From drywall to roofs, he is a household renaissance man. He really went beyond the call of duty for us, and was never, ever "pushy". To top it off, he is very kind, friendly and honest. A couple of days he needed an extra set of hands and brought a couple of workers with him, who were also neat, skilled and polite. I could go on but you get the picture! ;-) My father was extremely handy this way and always did anything around the house with skill, care and integrity. I didn't know anyone else was cut from the same cloth until we met Jerry. If you are lucky enough to grab him, do so.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I consider keeping the cost down as part of my job. I typically take 20% off labor because I don't agree with standard pricing on alot of things.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I try to visit the homeowner to get an exact idea of what they want, figure up a quote that I feel is a good price and set a start date. I don't schedule any other jobs until I complete the project. Each homeowner has my full attention until completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 33+ years of experience in the field. Started out as a trim carpenter on high end homes. I have experience in all finish areas of work for interior and exterior remodeling.
