GIna has been my trainer since July of 2014. I started as an out-of-shape new mother that needed a serious confidence boost. I found Gina at the gym that my husband goes to, and started her Boot Camp clases. She did a physical fitness test the first class, then did one two months later to asses my gains. I had lost weight, by BMI had gone down, my cardio was much better, and I excelled in all areas tested including pushups, jump rope, wall sit and plank time. She was so motivational and supportive, walking me through every technique and explaining the benefits of every exercise. I also hired her for personal training to help me with strength and weight lifting. I saw immediate gains in strength and weight loss. She is so knowledgeable about the body and all aspects of physical fitness. She helped me with my food journal, helping me eat healthier and meeting caloric goals. When I had a question I felt I could contact her any time to discuss concerns. I still attend Boot Camp classes twice per week. I love going and look forward to it more every time. Gina is definitely one of the best, I recommend her classes and personal training program to all my friends and family!

My classes are modified Baptiste style power yoga classes. I often play music, although I will teach without music whenever asked, and students can request to bring their own music as well. Students should be prepared to feel challenged, but at the same time, be aware that I offer instruction to all levels, and I will crack a lot of jokes. I try not to take yoga too seriously; this is your free time after all -- enjoy it! At my first teacher training in 2006 with David Swenson, I was asked, "Why do you practice yoga?," to which I replied, "Joy." Who cares if you fall down? Who cares if you aren't flexible? Who cares if you didn't understand that Sanskrit word I used for a particular posture (most of the time I won't use Sanskrit anyway)? Who cares if you aren't perfectly aligned? Just enjoy the music (or silence) and the sensations of your body opening during your practice while following your breath. I don't hold perfection as a goal for my own yoga practice, and I hope my students learn not to expect perfection from their practice either, but instead learn to embrace and relish the process. I hope to teach others what I gained from yoga -- rediscovering the joy of simply being in your body, a joy universally experienced in childhood when we spontaneously did handstands on our front lawns or in the schoolyard. Yoga is my pathway to the simple and invaluable state of contentment and often ecstasy, in just being in my body.

Let me know what your goals are, and we can make it happen. We can do one-on-one classes, or you and your friends can get together for a small group class. I teach yoga to adults of all ages and of all physical condition. My training blends a number of yoga styles. I use props, and I am particularly well-versed in modifications (to compensate for injuries, etc.). I studied with the amazing Tias Little, Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and I attended classes with more than a dozen outstanding teachers over the course of several years. I specialize in working with people who ride and work with horses, and I have developed yoga sequences aimed at improving balance and rehabilitating injuries. Currently, I teach privately at the homes of my students.
