Introduction: We have a good time in kids' yoga. As I tell a story, we act out the different parts and sometimes make animal sounds. However, it's also about finding ways to calm ourselves and get peaceful. I also give foot massages when requested during relaxation.
Gentle yoga is for people who thought they would never be able to do yoga. Our movements are done slowly, and people are encouraged to only do modified poses when necessary. We do a wonderful progressive relaxation with our eyes closed, and then I verbally paint a picture of a serene setting. Some have fond memories of this experience.
As a reading specialist, my first goal is to help people of all ages who thought they would never be able to read. I will structure activities geared to their unique problems. The next goal is to give them a sense of accomplishment and help them to eventually read for enjoyment.
