Gina and Scott photographed my wedding. It was nice to have a husband and wife photographers as that Gina could photograph the girls getting ready and Scott could photograph the guys getting ready. They both have different photography perspectives so we got lots great shots. They took photographs of the church, reception area and entrance so that we could remember how beautiful everything looked. Gina and Scott are wonderful people and we had so much fun with them. Our wedding pictures are beautiful. I am so happy that we picked Gina and Scott to be our wedding photographers.

Jesse Anderson was honestly the best photographer we could have hoped for. This guy knew what he was doing. He made it fun for us and genuinely seemed like a friend who cared. He took both our engagement photos and our wedding photos. Our engagement photos were stunning and he really knew how to make us look our best. We cannot wait to see our wedding photos. I'm sure he captured our love in a beautiful way as he tends to do! You would be a fool to not book with Jesse.

Taylor was amazingly perfect the entire experience. When I initially saw her photographs I knew she was the right fit for my special day. Once we started the planning process up to my wedding, it was confirmed she was the perfect person for the job. She was vigilant in setting up meeting prior to the event, and even had us fill out a survey so she could get to know us before the wedding. On Wedding Day she was genuinely joyous to be part of our day and her energy resonated while she photographed. Even our guests commented on how happy and energetic she was. Her husband was also a pleasure to meet and work with. The immediate day after our marriage she sent us edited photos to share with our loved ones. Taylor is simply a true professional with natural talent. I would recommend her services to anyone.

I loved the professional high quality photos that Sarah took of our big day. She worked with me to make I got all shots I really wanted. I am glad to have so many different photos of our wedding party and our families to look back on someday.

Tommy is a wonderful photographer. He did our engagment and wedding pictures almost 6 years ago and they turned out wonderful. I will forever cherish those pictures (especially the one of me and my gramma, since she passed away 3 years ago). Thanks Tommy for doing a wonderful job. If we still lived up there, we would have you take the pictures of our children.

Carmen went above and beyond for my husband and I when shooting our engagement pictures and our wedding! She had a nice blend of common poses but also fun unique ones. She also let me pick some poses that I would love to photograph on our special day. Carmen took the time to sit with me weeks before the wedding to discuss the schedule and what to expect. She kept me calm through all the chaos and had a wonderful spirit! Would definitely recommend her for your big day!

We had Paul shoot our wedding. Not just any wedding shoot. This was an outdoor Fire Dept themed wedding and Paul captured all of the special moments, even the ones you would not have expected. He was as invisible during the entire ceremony but caught the special moments as they occurred. He also has great insight on what makes the photo.

Very professional and creative. Both photographers were very patient with us and took the time to make sure our pictures were done the way we wanted. They also had some very unique ideas that we used in some photos as well. Would highly recommend.

The Tacketts did an amazing job with our wedding photos and we are so fortunate to have been introduced to them by other very satisfied friends! We had them do our engagement, fitting/rehearsal/dinner, and wedding/reception pictures. That's at least 14 hours of shooting and at least another 6 hours driving around on our behalf! By having two great photographers working in tandem they were able to get the best view points throughout the whole event. Plus, twice as many photos! They also have a knack for capturing the emotions in the room and for making even the camera-shy people feel comfortable. We are proud that Justin and Ashley were not "just" our photographers ... they were a big part of our special day and our great memories that were made will always include them.

Hiring Bryan to be our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made planning our wedding. Not only did he take excellent pictures, but he was incredibly friendly and easy to work with, and he went out of his way to make sure we got the shots we wanted. The finished pictures were given to us very soon after the wedding, and we are very pleased with them. We would absolutely recommend Bryan to anyone who is getting married and wants excellent quality photos.

As a model I have high expectations from the photographers I work with. I want professionalism, a relaxed environment, and of course good pictures! Meeting with Lea was wonderful and since she used to be a model it makes it even better. She knows what the customers want. And what they don't want. (Example of what you don't want: overly photoshopped pics, or that they went too crazy with the dodge and burn tool, not being able to work well or creatively together)  We took photos outside and they were very beautiful, we enjoyed ourself and prior to the actual shoot we'd kept in contact via text. Model release/contract paper was signed, money paid and shortly after I discovered my inbox filled with lovely photos. I cannot wait to work with her again.  Yes you pay for quality pictures but you also want the experience, and to trust in your photographer to make you comfortable. Lea is talented, very sweet and professional. She has fair prices and I recommend her to all of my friends and family. Anyone can pick up a camera and take a photo. But when you have passion mixed with natural talent, that is when you get unforgettable photos.

Brianna photographed my last August wedding and we could not have asked for a more personable, outgoing and professional photographer. Brianna took her time researching photo ideas as well as having my husband and I come up with a list of "MUST TAKE" photos, and Brianna did not miss a single one. She captured our personalities in every picture and was social with our guests and captured so many candid pictures of them that otherwise, my husband and I would have never seen. Brianna is detailed oriented and her bubbly personality makes her so fun to work with! I will always use Brianna for all of my future family pictures!

Anekdota Studio recently did our wedding photography. In addition to being friendly, thoughtful and extremely good at what they do, Kathleen and Katherine also tailored the kind of photography I wanted to fit my event and personality. We have gotten a ton of compliments and I plan on using these gals for every event I ever need photographed again... at least until they are booked all the time and I can't afford it (which I anticipate because, as I said, they are THAT good!) Seriously, do yourself a favor and check out their work while you can - in a few years, I don't anticipate them having any openings. They went above and beyond what I could have dreamed of, and I am, to say the least, quite particular. The website will only let me give 5 stars, but they earned at least 10!

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
