Dawn is awesome. She's flexible, reliable and extremely easy to deal with. And most importantly, she's truly a pet lover. I know my cat is well cared for and loved as much when I'm gone as when I'm home. I highly recommend Dawn. (I'm sure my cat does too!)

Creature Comforts provides the best possible training, walking, sitting and overnight boarding that I have ever experienced, as a pet owner. When Barrie comes to pick up my dog, she is excited to see Barrie and doesn't look over her shoulder to me as she leaves the house, I know that I have a happy, contented dog with Creature Comfort's care.

Spectrum Dog Training and in home boarding is an excellent place for training and boarding. As a family with 5 dogs, we depend on Andrew's guidance for all our training. Our dogs participate in obiedience, tracking, and ring sports. When it comes to boarding, I trust him to provide the same care my dogs would receive at home.

Having just moved to Lexington, I was at a loss as to who would watch our dog since we have never kenneled him. I'm so glad we found Jessica! She was amazing with our dog and I know he was well cared for with her. She was professional but also caring - she definitely put this mama at ease with updates while we were gone. She even straightened our house up a little which was an amazing sight after traveling all day long! I highly recommend her for your animal care needs!

I am mainly looking to do dog walking/sitting on weekends or in the evenings. I also do painting and minor drywall repair.

I am a true student of life. I'd imagine that some of my competitors are not as observant as I am. Just getting started, but I do love people and animals!

My work stands out because I take a lot of pride in what I do and I will always do my best to meet your standards. What I like most about my job is spending time with the animals. And helping the owner by keeping them fit and healthy.

We provide full group service grooming for all breeds of dogs and cats at the comfort of your home or mine.

Hi, I'm Sarah Bailey. I do lots of things as far as dog walking, housecleaning, errands, and babysitting! I have lots of great references and would love to talk to you soon about any kind of job you need help with!

I grew up with pets, dogs and cats, and I have interned with vets several times. I have plenty of experience handling small and large dogs on walks around other pets or traffic.

I provide pet services such as dog walking and pet sitting while you are on vacation. I have a fenced-in backyard and a full basement for them to play in a 2500-square-foot basement. They will have plenty of freedom.

In-home private training sessions are priced around 10% to 20% less than the average market value. The mission of this business is to provide a high-quality yet affordable dog training service. Each client is treated as a name, and not a number. Each training program is custom tailored to each individual client. Boarding is done out of my home. When your dog stays with us, they become part of my pack for the duration that they are here. I work with them on problem and nuisance behaviors that your dog may have. I will send you pictures, videos, and updates for each day that your dog stays with us.

I am a college student, looking for part-time work in walking dogs and pet sitting. I am comfortable around all breeds of dogs, and I'm a dog lover to my core.

I provide a dog walking service. I am trustworthy, mature, and experienced to help your canine family members! Just say where and when, and I'll be there, whether you work full time and can't get home during the middle of the day or are going on vacation. I'm also a cat lover; in case, yours needs special attention.

Dogs love me and they love to walk with me too. They are very friendly to you, so you have to be nice to them.

I can paint inside and outside. I clean homes and cut trees when needed. I walk dogs and move a house to another location. I am also on time and never late. I am dependable.

I love animals and being around them. I will walk any dog of any size. I'm not a fan of bunnies, so that's a no-go area.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

    • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
    • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
    • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
    • What are your different walk routes?
    • When will you pick up and drop off?
    • How will we communicate?
    • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
    • What’s your cancellation policy?
    • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
    • How and how often do I pay you?
    • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
