The movers showed up on time and did an ok job with the move in terms of furniture they were however unprepared to disconnect the washer and dryer set as far as tools are concerned. I had to drive to the new place get my own tools. Once the move was completed they damaged both machines. On my dryer they broke one of the legs leaving it unbalanced and did not tell me, I found the damage along with scratches on the top part after they left. My washer was not connected properly to water supply and currently does not work. If they are going to agree to move appliances they need to train their worker how to connect/disconnect and move machines like this. I am still trying to get this resolved with the moving company and the fact that I cannot use my dryer or washer is extremely inconvenient and frustrating.

Abba exceeded our expectations in every way. They were courteous from the moment we called to schedule as well as throughout the move. They kept in touch about our upcoming appointment. Movers arrived right on time and started moving our things as soon as they arrived. We have several antiques and they handled them all with great care. They also managed to negotiate all the tight corners and narrow stairways in our home without scratching our walls. The move day was brutally hot, but they pushed through and had a great attitude. They also did an excellent job of packing our things in their truck--they brought plenty of moving blankets. Not a scratch on any of our belongings. Abba is just great.

The movers were very cordial and professional. The setup was done online and management followed up with me to confirm over the phone. My only critique is that over the phone an important key element was miscommunicated: I told them that I had a 3 BR place but only one bedroom set to move. That was communicated to the movers as having to work a 1 BR place. That resulted in the 2 x movers being overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to move and resulted in added hours even though I also became a mover and helped out. My recommendation: Send a mover ahead of time, maybe 2 days in advance, to survey the location and amount of stuff to move in addition to parking, gate access, etc. He/She can then recommend the client the best course of action (two-man vice 3-man team, etc.). At minimum, head mover should call client at least one day prior to confirm logistics. Would I use them again, yes, but not before making sure I touch base with the actual movers assigned to the unit before they show up, at least 2 days before.

    We encourage all of our prospective customers to google "abba movers" and visit our website. This will allow them to learn more about our company and hear what people have to say about our work. Customers can then put their information in on our site to receive an instant quote which will be sent directly to their email address. Once approved, customers can book their move online, and they'll receive an email confirming their scheduled move! Customers may also give us a call if they have more questions or would rather schedule their move over the phone. It is very important to us that we answer all of our customers' questions as much as possible because moving can be extremely stressful. This is why we have outlined specific information such as "what to expect during and after your move" in their confirmation email. Once the customer is booked, they can rest assured that they made the best decision for their move and the only other thing they have to do is relax, and "Let Abba Carry the Stress of their move!"

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have over 9 years of experience in the moving industry and have completed large corporate jobs to studio apartment moves and everything in between. To stay current in the moving industry, I read newsletters from the AMSA and AMLPA. I also research new techniques and equipment monthly on the internet.
