I highly recommend this wonderfully talented and kind duo for any event! From the start, Kelseay was very responsive and helpful in designing a menu for our dinner party of 9. Kelseay and Dino arrived with plenty of time to prepare and dressed professionally. They were polite and engaging with all guests throughout the night, always taking cues from the guests' on levels of desired interaction. Our kitchen opens to the dining area, so we were able to watch as they cooked each of our 5 courses. We were worried about noise levels, but with some soft music in the background the proximity turned out to be a real treat! They plated each dish while cleaning and replacing cutlery throughout the night. Each plate was accompanied with a beautiful announcement of ingredients. We enjoyed an exquisite menu of goat cheese/fig/arugula salad, handmade fresh pasta (made in front of our guests!), halibut, filet mignon and cannoli dessert. All of their sauces are to die for. By our 4th course, most guests were filling up and upon seeing one guest only eat half his filet Kelseay graciously asked if he'd like it cooked differently - to which he replied it was wonderful, just too much food! By the end of the night, the entire kitchen was clean, dishwasher filled and other dishes, pans, bowls all put away as they found them. Both Kelseay and Dino were immensely kind and respectful. We could not have asked for a better experience. Our guests all requested their business cards and plan on engaging their services for dinners and cooking classes. Thank you again!
We couldn't have asked for anything more from Chef Cyn! First of all, from the beginning, Cyn was a pleasure to work with. I told her the experience I was looking for and together we created the menu for our evening. I was in New Orleans for my sister's bachelorette party and I wanted to have a unique experience for her. Cyn delivered! There were 8 of us total and I asked Cyn for a semi-hands on cooking class for the group. It was perfect! Cyn showed up on time with her sous chef and prepped for dinner, explaining what she was doing and all about Creole vs. Cajun food as she did it. She offered to let us do some chopping, but I think the girls were pretty focused on their wine and her directions ;) On the menu was a simple, fresh salad, crawfish etouffee, and a delicious and light (what we asked for!) fresh strawberry dessert. Everyone loved it, Cyn was a doll, and it was such a fantastic meal and experience. I highly recommend using Chef Cyn! You will not be disappointed.
Cindy came over to my house to teach me how to cook gumbo. She went over the history of the dish and the various ways it could be prepared (Cajun versus Creole, etc.). It was a great experience and I will definitely have her over for another cooking class soon!
My siblings and I had Brandon come do a cooking class for us when we were visiting New Orleans over the holidays. He was outstanding from start to finish. He was very easy to get in touch with and was quick to respond. He worked with us on what we would like to cook, taking the time to inquire on any dietary restrictions, and offering up possibilities. We settled on a fairly traditional New Orleans type fare with a gumbo, blackened red fish, and espresso beignets. We paid for a three hour cooking lesson, but Brandon went above and beyond coming early for setup and staying over an hour after answering questions and ensuring everything was cleaned up. He was very personable and knowledgeable on everything he was cooking and even prepared personalized handouts with the menu, recipes, etc. He was very professional and did a great job of instructing us and then taking over when we wanted to eat. As for the food, I couldn't give it higher reviews. Everything prepared was absolutely amazing. My whole family raved about how flavorful the grits were, how it was the best gumbo they've ever had, how the fish was perfectly cooked, etc. It may have been a bit too good since I took a nap as soon as the lesson was over! My siblings and I enjoyed the lesson so much they made a special trip out to Brandon and his wife's popup restaurant, Splendid Pig a few days later just to enjoy some more of Brandon's cooking. They said everything was superb there as well (unfortunately I wasn't able to make this trip since I had overindulged a bit the night before in classic New Orleans fashion). I couldn't give Brandon a higher rating. The value was incredible, especially for the individualized attention. The food was delicious, and the overall experience was just what we had hoped for. I would highly recommend Brandon's lessons and a visit to the Splendid Pig next time you're in NOLA!
Chef Amy Sins knows how to entertain a crowd and she prepares lip smacking food that will have you wanting more. She is the perfect addition to any group brunch, lunch or dinner event or for an in home interactive cooking class.
Chef Richard Bond taught my visiting family from Minnesota to make Gumbo, chocolate Bread Pudding, and a Crawfish special dish. All dishes were prepared by the class and tasting was over the top.
Ed's cooking class was one of the best highlights from our Nola adventure. Not only did he make wonderful food, he explained the ingredients and local culture. I suggest his class to my traveling friends. He's great.
Matt has provided me with several fun and different cooking classes! He has so many great tips and techniques for prepping and cooking food! I feel like I walk away each time with some new trick I am excited to bring home and try myself. He is a wonderful, patient, and fun instructor who I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn some new cooking skills. :)
Chef Karen was very affable and knowledgeable, was very attentive and provided excellent instruction. We very much enjoyed her class, held in the kitchen of her home, also a B&B, and following our class, we sat with she and her husband and had a delightful meal of all that we had prepared. We had a delightful class, dinner and evening.
