Our extensive search for well rounded teacher who is great with kids is finally over. Ms. Kim has brought my kid to the next level where she is having fun learning to play the violin rather feeling as extra circular activity. She looks forward to her lesson every week.
My daughter started taking violin lessons with Mr. Antonevich after two years of studying with other violin instructors. After only two lessons, we were able to see a tremendous improvement in her violin skill. Her position has been corrected, which she was never able to accomplish in the previous two years. My daughter is happier because she can hear how much better she sounds now. As of this year, she has been selected as the first seat in the school orchestra. My daughter loves her violin lessons with Mr. Antonevich.
I decided to take up the violin again after last having touched one over forty years ago. I have been taking violin lessons with Haley for over six months. She quickly helped me get back some sense of the instrument. She has been patiently taking me through scales, rhythm, tempo, sight reading , and in addition has exposed me to the basics of music theory. I have found her to be welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, yet also professional. We go through scale drills, are making our way through basic Hal Leonard books, and even do a little jamming on some rock ballads that she has downloaded for us to play along with. I haven't been practicing as much as I could or should, but Haley is cool with it. It's all been a challenge for me, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. When I progress to a higher level of playing ability, I am certain her high level of violin musicianship and teaching skill will be greatly helpful in allowing me to reach my musical goals. I would highly recommend Haley as a violin teacher for aspiring musicians of all skill levels.

After no progress on my child (9 yr)s violin from the previous teacher (for 2 yrs with Suzuki 1 and 2), we luckily found Ms. Joo as a new teacher. We were so happy to what my child made during Ms. Joos lesson. On the first day of lesson, Ms. Joo asked us to take off tapes on fingerboard, and a month later, she did not need those anymore. Here is what I really like from Ms. Joos lesson. (1) Strict (also gentle) guidance but in a highly positive manner, which made my child happy and practice more; (2) Combination of violin with music theory, which built solid foundation; (3) listening practice was very helpful so my child can find the right note on her strings; (4) Accompanied by piano Ms. Joo played, which was unique experience for my child to enjoy how wonderful playing together is. As a mom of two children (6 and 9), I have met many teachers for violin and piano. Among those, I can tell Ms. Joo is the best. If you have any questions, please email me. Will be happy to answer.
Wonderful violin teacher . I highly recommend this professor. My daughter improved so much
Jodi has been teaching piano lessons in my home to my three children for over two years and we couldn't be happier. She has an easy way with the children, they have learned a great deal of theory, they play very well and they LOVE to play. I highly recommend Jodi Griffith as a piano teacher.
She is a great teacher! Very committed and passionate about her job. Also, a great violinist and a beautiful person!
Ms Gurfinkel is an extraordinary teacher. I have been taking lessons from her on a weekly basis for half a year now and my violin playing skills have grown tremendously. A little bit about myself, I am 24 years old, and I had been playing violin for two years when I was in middle school, and when I came to Ms Gurfinkel I had been on a hiatus for almost a decade. Ms Gurfinkel was able to see where my skill level was and taylor her teaching to my needs. She will give you challenging piece to practice but within your abilities. She know basically every classic piece so if there is one specific piece that you really want to learn, she can teach you! She is very nice, if you practiced the previous week, haha. If you haven't been practicing enough, she can tell and she will be strict on you, which is a good thing. And by enough practice, I mean generally one to two hours a day, around ten hours per week. If you want to take your violin playing to the next level, or if you want to start learning violin, come take lessons from Ms Gurfinkel, you won't be disappointed.
Ellen is the consummate violin teacher. My children have been taking lessons with her for 14 years. I highly recommend her violin studio. Ellen is professional and infuses students with a love for music and their instrument. She challenges her students to excel; it is truly amazing what children can achieve with encouragement and excellent teaching.
Julian has been a great influence on my daughter’s musical growth. He holds her to an appropriately high standard while keeping the lessons fun and engaging. My daughter loves her lessons and the comprehensive practice strategy Julian provides. He has increased her endurance for practicing which has allowed her to make some significant technical leaps. Since working with Julian I’ve seen improvements in her technique and her commitment to her violin. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for exceptional violin instruction!
David was a great teacher! It was clear he had a great understanding and expertise in the fundamentals of the violin and absolutely knew how to build a person up from the ground up skill-set wise. He provided some great music which taught me well and I was able to excel quickly based on the music he provided and the lessons he taught me. He had a very pleasant demeanor and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone starting off new with the violin.
Sarah is a truly excellent violinist and overall musician. She has the technique, knowledge and sensitivity to teach, coach and inspire students through advanced levels. I appreciated her ability to analyze my technical issues and suggest potential solutions.

I am a passionate and skilled violinist and student. I have been playing violin since the age of 7 and continue to study and play at University of Massachusetts Amherst. In the past, I have put together string quartets and have played in a variety of ensembles for different settings; musicals, formal concerts, weddings, etc.... I also have 2 years of experience teaching middle school violinists in my hometown. I recognize that each student is different and while I prefer to guide all students through a similar structure as the rest, I always make conscious and consistent efforts to evaluate each student's progression to determine what they need to work on the most.
I am a violin teacher, and I love teaching classical.
