My experience with learning Spanish at New Way is excellent. Alejandro is a very devoted teacher and he has devoloped a well-though teaching method. He takes care of incorporating different modules into the class that includes reading and pronunciation, grammatics, conversation, listening. He nicely adapts and shapes classes depending on my level and my weakest points. Moreover by getting to know my hobbys and lifestyle he suggests other ways of staying in touch with Spanish outside of the class for instance spanish songs, books etc. Importantly Alejandro let his student immerse into spanish speaking community by organizing and inviting us to the outside events. That help us to improve vocabulary in a friendly atmosphere. I am recommending New Way to everybody who is motivated to learn Spanish effectively in a friendly and professional atmosphere.
Bren is an excellent teacher, she knows a lot and it is very pasionate and motivated!!! 100% recommended.
I was having trouble with Calculus, so I hired Michael as a tutor to help me understand the content. He was very friendly and I felt that I really benefited from his assistance. I was having trouble with anti-derivatives, and whenever I got stuck, while my teacher would just show me the answer, or how to memorize a formula, he would show/explain to me why the concept worked in an intuitive way. He was really patient if I got stuck on a problem, no matter how long I would take. I highly recommend Michael Yu. While the rating only goes to 5 stars, I'd rate him at about a 9 on a scale of 1-10.
I recently ran across a review about Quantum Prep and felt like I just had to share my tutoring story as well. I graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington Massachusetts. Lexington High School is a huge school. When I say huge, I mean I graduated with five hundred and eleven classmates. I was always proud to go to Lexington High, we were rated number 19 in 2014 by Newsweek in their Americas Top Public Schools. Luckily my class sizes were always small and it was not too hard to get help from the teacher. The first semester of my junior year I was taking five classes. I was looking into pre-med, so I took a lot of hard science classes that gave me at least two hours of homework a night. I also worked on the weekends, swam competitively, played in the jazz band and was active in my religious youth group. That year I was taking AP Chemistry as a challenge and knew I was going to have a tough time with it. My teacher, Mrs. Compton, was great! She explained everything really well and broke it down for the class. I just really couldnt get everything in my notebook and in my head with enough time to move on to the next topic, so Id lose information here and there, making it really hard to answer test questions. I got the first F in my entire academic career on the first quiz. Im one of those people who expect a lot from themselves, and I expected As. I felt really bad about myself for the first two quizzes because I wasnt coming even close to what I knew I could do. In addition, because I was spending so much time working on AP Chemistry, my other classes were suffering. And as a prospective pre-med student, I was afraid that because I challenged myself I wasnt going to get into the colleges I wanted. That's when I called Quantum Prep for help. As soon as I had the first tutoring session I felt a little more reassured. We went over my quizzes and homework assignments and my tutor quickly picked up what I was missing and how to keep me focused. I felt much more confident walking into class every day. My tutor figured out how I best learn and we started laughing and making jokes as we did stereochemistry. Yes, he figured out within one session that I learn better with music playing in the background and even knew why! The real difference was that he didnt just teach me material, he taught me how to learn for myself. It was a game-changer in how I approached school and learning in general. So while he was teaching me one class, I was using the learning techniques he taught me to improve my grades in all of my classes. He even patiently sat through temper tantrums and low points. So what happened after I called Quantum Prep? The next quiz I took, I got thirty points higher than the last. The first exam; I got a B+. I went on to graduate in a science heavy degree, and got into my first choice for college and graduated with a degree in Neuropsychology. I highly suggest using Quantum Prep for any kind of tutoring. I had such a wonderful experience and have used the lessons I learned from him in so many different aspects of my life, from studying at the university to job experiences. Thank you Quantum Prep!
First of all, if I could give Prepscholar 6 stars, I would. I've had a really rough start. Unlike most high schoolers, I didn't exactly know much about the SAT until it was almost too late. I live in Indonesia, and so the SAT isn't exactly as popular as it is in the States. My mom then took me to a SAT prep centre which was actually quite famous back home. I took a diagnostic test there and scored a 1740. Now, even though it was only a diagnostic test, I couldn't have fared better than an 1800 on the real SAT. I took two lessons with that prep centre and I could not be more disappointed. The teacher basically reread the book to us. I wasn't learning from them. It was a waste of time and money. I didn't need someone to tell me why B was the correct answer to the question. I needed someone to tell me why I got the question wrong so I could avoid making the same mistake again. I found Prepscholar truly by accident. After reading Allen Cheng's post on how to get a perfect score, I knew that Prepscholar might help me boost my score. I intend to go to highly selective schools, therefore I need a good SAT score. However, I had my doubts: it sounded too good to be true. Well, after contacting Fred Zhang, who was very helpful and knowledgable, I realized that Prepscholar is really, with all honesty, THAT good. I am not exaggerating at all when I tell you that Prepscholar is the perfect program for all of you wanting to boost your scores, like I did. With only about a month to prepare for the June SAT, I started using Prepscholar and started my tutoring sessions. My tutor, David, was really kind, and he read into my thought process and told me what I was doing wrong. Instead of just telling me the correct answers to the questions, he explained to me why I got them wrong and how I could avoid making the same mistakes next time. I improved a lot, and I found myself making fewer mistakes every time I practiced. I started out making up to 12 mistakes per section, and now I averaged at about 3 mistakes per section and sometimes I even got an entire section correct. The program itself has extremely insightful lessons and their quizzes represent questions that actually come out quite often on the real SAT. The program also tells me my skill levels, which skills I have problems in, and therefore I can review those particular skills and improve. I just received my scores, and I scored a total of 2050, with 730 for math, 650 for critical reading, and 670 for writing. This is a huge jump from my original scores of 690 for math, 520 for critical reading, and 530 for writing. I couldn't be happier. The best part is, I am very positive that I can improve even more. I will still be learning from Prepscholar and I am sure that by November, I will master the SAT even more. I must emphasize that without Prepscholar's help, I would never have passed 2000. I doubt I would even get a 1900. Prepscholar is probably the only program that really works. My score jumped 310 points, in only 1 month. For all of you who are looking for a way to boost your scores, your search is over. There is probably no better program out there than Prepscholar. So, if you're still doubting, please stop. Prepscholar is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am sure it will be to you too.
Chris used to be my English teacher at the EF Language school. One thing he always told us was: "I don't want to give you fish, I want to teach you how to get fish." He is the most ambitious and innovative teacher I ever met and we students love him.
It is excellent to work with Demie. He is a very helpful teacher for my son.
Paul, is a perfect tutor. I'm happy with the classes, He helped me to achieve a very good conversation level. The classes are very productive and I always laugh because Paul has a sense of really cool mood, I would not trade Paul for another teacher ever. Thank You so much my friend RAPHAEL VON GAL
I came to Chavi at a time when I had severe anxiety. Her personalized treatment did wonders for me. Coming from India, she is the real deal--she knows the history, technique, breathing, mantras, and how to serve your body. As a choreographer, dancer, physical therapist, and yoga practitioner, there is no better teacher in Boston.
I have received help with multiple writing assignments in school, ACT tutoring, and supplement and college essay help. I do not know what I would do without Lisa! She has helped me go from a B english student to an A student. She has also done a great job working with me on my supplements and college essay. My english teacher and college counselor loved them! For my ACT scores, she helped me get a 33 on my first ACT in the reading section and helped me go from a 24 to a 35 in the english section.
Vincent is an excellent teacher and the class is participatory and interesting.
Marcie was my drama teacher for my Senior year of high school. Although I didn't experience her as an English/Literature teacher, I could tell from the reading and writing assignments in the drama class that she would excel at teaching those subjects. In my experience of her as my drama teacher, she would always find new and engaging ways of teaching. I recall group exercises in which we were challenged to write and act a scene in front of the class and also provide constructive feedback to the other groups. I also recall exercises that were designed to encourage "outside of the box" thinking. Of these exercises my favorites were the various improv games and the section dealing with "Method Acting". Marcie is not only an excellent educator, but also someone you can confide in. She truly cares about her students and doesn't treat teaching as "just a job."
Jimmy is a great and extremely patient teacher. He isn't very pushy, and got me a head start on stuff I didn't understand at all.
Samantha is the best! Because she has patience, dedication and loves what she does! I am very happy to have you as my ESL teacher.
We had Angela as an instructor for both of my sons. Both from Kindergarten through 6th Grade. She is a gracious, fun, reliable teacher and comes highly recommended. She knows how to get the best out of all the kids, is kind in her approach and does excellent work. I recommend for any age!
Great teacher! My girls thrived on her approach to teaching. Her enthusiasm, teaching method and personal way of interacting were hits with them.
Our tutor Alex is Excellent! He figured out my son and how he needs to work with him. Celine has been very attentive to every detail. She contacted the teacher and got all the details for her tutor. A great company to work with.
I highly recommend reading "I call myself Earth Girl. The story is compelling and not easy to put down. Ms. Greene has given us a beautifully written book that carries messages that are dear to my heart. Her method of bringing these subjects to light will reach many. It is a thought-provoking book that left me thinking long after the last sentence.
Olya is truly a miracle teacher! In just 10 lessons with Olya, I was able to improve my GMAT score by 150 points! I highly recommend Olya to anyone who wants to have a chance to study at a top MBA program.
