- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For anything that deals with words (editing, transcribing, or writing), I have a base fare of $0.10/word. Additional costs depend on the individual request. My rates a flexible, and once a rate has been agreed upon, it will not change unless it needs to be lowered. For resumes, the rates begin at $35-40 (lower for students and recent grads) and increase depending on the amount of design, while full portfolios start at $60.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin by setting up an initial video/phone meeting, followed by creating a "Project Tracker" document with which all the requirements, timelines, etc., are laid out for both myself and the client may track the work being done. For long term projects, I like to set up a weekly check in.
