Guitar Lessons : I had a good experience with Andy. I had to stop lessons for a long out of town trip. Plan on starting back in the spring 2014. I had a mixed bag of guitar skills and he was able to focus on what I needed to learn and show me how to do it. Thanks
I have a 7 years old girl who plays the violin and she has been taking violin lesson with Angel for 2 years. Absolutely, she LOVES the lesson with him. His professionalism and experience with kids make the lesson so valuable. I can see when my daughter plays the violin, her sound, tone quality and even posture improved so much. I strongly recommend him if you are thinking of the lesson for your children. As far as I know, he is the BEST teacher and musician!! plus, he is always on time for the lesson.
I took piano lessons with Mary. She is a wonderful and professional teacher. I would highly recommend New England Music Studio - Great learning experience and a lot of fun
I used to play trumpet but wanted to shift to violin for a softer sound. I had never held a bow before and didn't know how to place my fingers or anything. Niki has taken a potentially daunting process and made it accessible, helping me learn the basics little by little. She is really encouraging and good at identifying areas to hone in on. Her own experience as a performer comes through, and it is fun to work with her. I am so happy to have found Niki to teach me and recommend her for any range of levels!
I only spoke with Josh on the phone but he was very polite and helpful. We would have loved to have him as a teacher but he was located too far from the student.
At over 60, taking violin lessons for the first time could have been painful. Laura makes sure that it isn't. I love learning from her. She is a gifted teacher and talented musician who knows how to adjust lessons to the individual student and encourage without lecturing. I highly recommmend her for either performance or instruction...for any aged student!
It was great to meet Christyn. She is very sweet and puts you at ease. I am looking forward to a continued working relationship.
Ms Gurfinkel is an extraordinary teacher. I have been taking lessons from her on a weekly basis for half a year now and my violin playing skills have grown tremendously. A little bit about myself, I am 24 years old, and I had been playing violin for two years when I was in middle school, and when I came to Ms Gurfinkel I had been on a hiatus for almost a decade. Ms Gurfinkel was able to see where my skill level was and taylor her teaching to my needs. She will give you challenging piece to practice but within your abilities. She know basically every classic piece so if there is one specific piece that you really want to learn, she can teach you! She is very nice, if you practiced the previous week, haha. If you haven't been practicing enough, she can tell and she will be strict on you, which is a good thing. And by enough practice, I mean generally one to two hours a day, around ten hours per week. If you want to take your violin playing to the next level, or if you want to start learning violin, come take lessons from Ms Gurfinkel, you won't be disappointed.
I have taken guitar lessons from Alan Donati for a number of years in order to better understand music. Being a weathered rock/blues drummer myself, I can attest that Alan is a very accomplished musician and seasoned music teacher who learned his craft via years of playing in rock, blues and jazz bands as well as attending Berklee as a solid foundation. Alan can teach a number of instruments well such as guitar, bass and piano alongside incorporating music theory with the practical applications. He is very adapt with technology as well as “old school”. I have seen Alan teach many students with great patience with tailored attention to the particular student’s interest. Some veteran musicians can only play well but not teach. However, Alan can obviously do both. And so I am giving Alan an outstanding review and rating.
Maggie Cerjan is a gifted teacher. She connects with the child where they are, makes the lessons fun, and paces every suggestion and new skill to the child's ability and learning style. She is gentle and encouraging, and teaches to a high standard and expects her students to work hard. My beginning student loves his lessons and loves Maggie; I'm so glad we found Stonybrook Springs!

I am a violinist with 30 plus years of playing and teaching experience. I have taught all ages and levels. I am a supportive instructor, who knows when to push. I have two degrees in Music and two in Education.
David was a great teacher! It was clear he had a great understanding and expertise in the fundamentals of the violin and absolutely knew how to build a person up from the ground up skill-set wise. He provided some great music which taught me well and I was able to excel quickly based on the music he provided and the lessons he taught me. He had a very pleasant demeanor and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone starting off new with the violin.
Mr. Fred Delgizzo worked around my schedule for my first 30 minute guitar lesson. He was very willing to meet me where I'm at; a beginner when it comes to music and a complete stranger to the guitar. He is very friendly and patient with me. The only negative is that my fingers hurt, but I don't believe even the best of teachers can do anything about that. #waitingforcalouses
We used the Mozart Academy for our son's guitar lessons. The teacher was friendly & fun, the rates were competitive & he even got to participate in a recital. Highly recommend!
