I came to Bren because I wanted to work on some new monologues and prepare for graduate school auditions. Bren was so generous with her resources, helping me find the right pieces for me, and helping shape them into pieces that showed my skill and personal style. After I chose the right monologues, I continued working with Bren for a few months to prepare for grad school. She was such a source of support, helping me believe in myself and my artistry, and giving me valuable insight into the world of professional acting and graduate programs. If you're looking to prepare for the next stage of your acting career, or are looking for help with any public speaking or presentation skills, I highly recommend Bren for her experience, her insight, and her generosity of spirit.

I have taken 2 acting classes with Bates Wilder and they are eye-opening. He helps actors see themselves and the world in a completely different way. He forces you to confront barriers and find the truth in a performance. Bates can be brutally honest while still making you feel safe and it is a unique combination in a teacher that brings out the best in his students. I highly recommend him.

Frances was my acting instructor and director when I was playing the role of Mayor Meekly in my school's production of Unnecessary Farce. Having grown close to her husband Brian, I knew she would be great from the get go. Auditions were a very unique experience, having us tell a joke in lieu of a monologue or a monologue if we chose to. Callbacks were great I got to try a bunch of different personalities to my character and I was ecstatic when I got cast. The rehearsal process was very rewarding with such a tight knit cast and a perfect director. We all bonded very much. Some things I learned from Frances is personalization of a character to you, in order to make someone wholeheartedly believe you are the character you are portraying. She believes in those who she sees talent in and has urged me to pursue acting as a career.
