We have a 35-gallon freshwater tank that had not been cleaned in years with a catfish or two in the bottom who had somehow survived the neglect for years. We needed to have the gravel changed, plants added, and the tank stocked. Mike was sensitive to our budgetary constraints and had outstanding knowledge and skills, giving beautiful and patient advice, and taking our two catfish for a week's retreat in his store until their new home was ready. Then he expertly advised on numbers and types of fish and helped me learn the skills I need so that I can maintain the tank myself. Now we have fat and sassy Ralph (our Sterbai Corydora catfish) back with two newly-purchased friends at the bottom of the tank; and I know that the reason Raphaella--our other named fish was so seldom seen was that different varieties of catfish don't get along. Over time we've added 1 beautiful blue and orange Betta Splendan, 8 neon tetras, 3 gold phantom tetras, 3 orange platies, and 2 Blue German rams, and 3 Mystery snails of various colors (blue, yellow, and brown). The tank is lively, healthy, and happy. Mike is really fast and efficient at vacuuming, artistic in his arrangement of plants, and willing and knowledgeable in answering questions at all levels.See more
