Introduction: I offer naturopathic medical and acupuncture services in Brattleboro, VT and Northampton, MA. Naturopathic medicine combines modern medical science with traditional healing wisdom. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) attend a four-year medical program and are nationally certified. We are trained in physical and laboratory diagnosis similar to medical doctors. In addition, we study alternative healing systems, including botanical medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, physical medicine, Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Our approach to treatment is holistic, meaning that we take into account the entire person, not just the disease that the person is suffering from. The acupuncture I practice is a combination of five elements and traditional Chinese styles. Founded on ancient principles and supported by modern scientific research, acupuncture has been used for centuries to treat a wide variety of conditions. Acupuncture is based on balancing "qi" or energy in the body. This is done through inserting very small needles into the body. Most people feel little or no pain and find the treatment extremely relaxing. In addition to acupuncture and naturopathic medicine, I also offer craniosacral therapy. The focus of my practice is not on removing the particular disease that you are suffering from, but bringing you back to a state of wellness so that there is no room for disease.
