Pricilla does an excellent job. My house is sparkling and smells wonderful when she leaves. Somehow she's able to get every bit of dog hair and dust. I trust her enough to leave my house while she's cleaning, which says so much!

The pet lady, Leslie has been wonderful . My daughter had an accident 3 mos ago and has been hospitalized since’ she has 3 cats who mean the world to her. Leslie is feeding them 3x a week and she also interacts with them. She sends pics and texts.the whole situation is just great ... Also the price is reasonable. It’s a win win Deal.

I always ask Krystal to watch my dogs and cats when my husband and I are out of town. She's the best ever! My dogs are so attached to her that when they hear her car coming they start going ballistic! She's always great with them, really kind and affectionate while being firm and authoritative. Ideal balance, I'd recommend her to anyone needing pet care services!!

Kim took care of our elderly dog, until just days before Pebbles passed away. We never worried about anything when Kim was around. She texted updates each day, and would call us if she felt something needed to be discussed further. Kim was a godsend. Anyone would be luck to have her take care of their pet!

Cheryl never got to watch our pet because the trip was unexpectedly canceled. However- she was very responsive and friendly- she went out of her way to accommodate multiple in person visits to get to know us and the cat before the job started, and she has experienced with watching animals. I would recommend her!

Scott at Happy Camper Pet Care helps out with our two dogs on a weekly basis. Usually 4-5 times a week, he comes by to take them for a walk and give them much needed exercise while we are at work. He is great with them, and they are definitely not low energy dogs. Now when we arrive home from work they are less hyper and we can enjoy them without getting stressed. A tired dog is a happy dog:) Scott is trustworthy, honest, reliable and hardworking and a pleasure to deal with. He also feeds them when needed and stays with them when we go away. He'll even take them to the vet or groomer and bring in your mail:) I highly recommend Happy Camper Pet Care to anyone looking for help with their pet/s.

Brenda did great for her first time. She spent extra time with my cat Jessie. My house was very signs of kitty litter on floors or smells through the house. We plan on having her again in the near future. We were very pleased that she would do the holidays.

Zara has been cleaning my home for years. She is reliable, trustworthy, professional, she is hardworking and is excellent with my dogs. It is lovely to come home to a clean house.

I am a caring pet owner of cats. Though I like dogs and most other types of pets except snakes and spiders. I posted a current pic, though I plan to put in a better one of myself alone as soon as possible. I like most animals: cats, dogs, birds, and small pets. I also like horses, and I'm an experienced horseback rider. I only know the basics of horse care. I have cared for horses at a horse camp, but I'm not an experienced horse caretaker. I have a cousin who owns an equestrian center. I hope to gain experience as I plan to visit and may inquire about working there also. I also like photography, computer games, swimming and more. I like the outdoors; therefore, I like to take walks. So I would be happy to care for and walk your dog or dogs. If there's more than one, I would like a higher wage. I'm looking for $15.00 an hour for now. I may consider lower depending on the services needed. I have helped save animals who were in need of help. I can inform you about that at a later time if interested. I have a pretty flexible schedule. So I may be able to work on certain days and in the afternoon and evening. I'm in the Wethersfield area and prefer the jobs I take on to be local, not further than one town away. I'm a responsible adult over 30. Please e-mail me if you can't reach me by phone. Thank you. -- Diana

I provide daily and overnight pet care, at-home medication treatments and basic grooming. Services are provided for cats, dogs, reptiles, aquatics, birds and small mammals. I have over 15 years of hands-on experience with animals. I am currently a technician at a vet hospital for over 4 years.

I have graduated from college and need a supplemental income. I have 3 dogs and love animals. I would be happy to take care of your pet.

We offer a variety of human and animal services. For this application, I would like to highlight our pet sitting services. We board many different kind of animals, starting with caged animals like hamsters and rats, birds, and cats and dogs, and more. We are animal lovers. We also do pet sitting on location, and we provide daily walks from pet's location, instead of our home. It is an honor and a privilege to share time with our animal friends that come into our home to enlighten us along the way.

I provide companionship and comfort to pet, care for, feed, walk and play with pets. I am a pet owner and a student who is enrolled in the Vo Ag program at Rockville High School. I am responsible and an avid animal lover.

I'm wicked, friendly, and I love dogs. I'm willing to devote my time towards your lovely K9. I am flexible throughout the week

I want to walk dog around. I'll get your dog right back just after an hour walk. I will feed him or her.

I love animals and am educated in most canine and feline breeds.

I love walking dogs, not many other animals need to be walked. I can walk two tops unless smaller dogs then maybe multiple. I can feed the dogs, even if on strict diet but then must be specified. I can wash and groom. I'm not a hair stylist but do have clippers if needed. Walking is what I live to do. I love puppies also, it makes sense. If you want someone who loves to do what they do, walk your dog, then I'm the man for your job. There is no job too small. All other animals are excepted unless discussed and denied.

What makes my business great is the amount of hard work inputted into it. Also it is designed so the customer feels satisfied.

I am the most reliable pet walker. You can always count on me. I am great with and love animals. I will walk or watch any pet, such as dog, cat, snake, turtle, bird or gorilla.

A Fairy Dogmother pet services provides exercise, conditioning, and socialization. We will also take your dog to the vet when you can't. Basic training available for an extra fee. 19 years in business. Insured.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
