The refinishing process involves taking precautionary measures to limit dust; pulling up any carpet, vinyl, or linoleum from the hardwood floor(fee assess); stripping and sanding the wood (up to five times using different grits of paper); and then applying two to four coats of stain and/or finish. To help clients select the best stain and finish for their floor, we not only present stain samples but also apply chosen colors to the sanded wood itself so that clients can see how the color works with their wood, how it looks with the decor, and appearance in light. Stains are available in a wide range of colors and the finishes come in satin, semi, and high gloss.
