Oliver tutored me for my Statistics exam among other Math related courses. I struggled with math all of my academic life and Oliver was well aware of my fears and weaknesses with math in general. He was able to accommodate his teaching style to my needs. I would not have passed otherwise. Oliver is very kind, hard working, smart and reliable. I owe him a lot of credit for helping me get through my courses in math!

First of all, if I could give Prepscholar 6 stars, I would. I've had a really rough start. Unlike most high schoolers, I didn't exactly know much about the SAT until it was almost too late. I live in Indonesia, and so the SAT isn't exactly as popular as it is in the States. My mom then took me to a SAT prep centre which was actually quite famous back home. I took a diagnostic test there and scored a 1740. Now, even though it was only a diagnostic test, I couldn't have fared better than an 1800 on the real SAT. I took two lessons with that prep centre and I could not be more disappointed. The teacher basically reread the book to us. I wasn't learning from them. It was a waste of time and money. I didn't need someone to tell me why B was the correct answer to the question. I needed someone to tell me why I got the question wrong so I could avoid making the same mistake again. I found Prepscholar truly by accident. After reading Allen Cheng's post on how to get a perfect score, I knew that Prepscholar might help me boost my score. I intend to go to highly selective schools, therefore I need a good SAT score. However, I had my doubts: it sounded too good to be true. Well, after contacting Fred Zhang, who was very helpful and knowledgable, I realized that Prepscholar is really, with all honesty, THAT good. I am not exaggerating at all when I tell you that Prepscholar is the perfect program for all of you wanting to boost your scores, like I did. With only about a month to prepare for the June SAT, I started using Prepscholar and started my tutoring sessions. My tutor, David, was really kind, and he read into my thought process and told me what I was doing wrong. Instead of just telling me the correct answers to the questions, he explained to me why I got them wrong and how I could avoid making the same mistakes next time. I improved a lot, and I found myself making fewer mistakes every time I practiced. I started out making up to 12 mistakes per section, and now I averaged at about 3 mistakes per section and sometimes I even got an entire section correct. The program itself has extremely insightful lessons and their quizzes represent questions that actually come out quite often on the real SAT. The program also tells me my skill levels, which skills I have problems in, and therefore I can review those particular skills and improve. I just received my scores, and I scored a total of 2050, with 730 for math, 650 for critical reading, and 670 for writing. This is a huge jump from my original scores of 690 for math, 520 for critical reading, and 530 for writing. I couldn't be happier. The best part is, I am very positive that I can improve even more. I will still be learning from Prepscholar and I am sure that by November, I will master the SAT even more. I must emphasize that without Prepscholar's help, I would never have passed 2000. I doubt I would even get a 1900. Prepscholar is probably the only program that really works. My score jumped 310 points, in only 1 month. For all of you who are looking for a way to boost your scores, your search is over. There is probably no better program out there than Prepscholar. So, if you're still doubting, please stop. Prepscholar is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am sure it will be to you too.

Found PrepScholar because two buddies of mine got great scores on the GRE after using it. I had a similar experience and got a 321 on my first try. Highlights: awesome customer service, the customized learning is truly a differentiator - when I drill and perfect one skill at a time in the mater of weeks I can see clear difference in being able to conquer anything the GRE throws at me. A lot of the GRE courses out there focus too much on mindless video watching and practice tests, PrepScholar's interactive lessons and targeted quizzes force me to focus 100% of my energy and effort - I was able to absorb a lot f info in just under 2 hours a day. This is truly the most efficient way to ace the GRE and I wish I knew about this during college!

Educational tutoring on a high school level. Trouble areas in math were addressed and positive reinforcement was the key to success. My son had been tutored by several professional tutors but he never had the confidence that he needed to succeed. We heard about Kristen's services from my son's classmate who was also struggling in math and decided to retain her services. From my initial conversation with Kristen, I immediately took a liking to her. She was professional and personable. She was very receptive to help my son succeed. Kristen was most accommodating when scheduling sessions. My son immediately connected with her and truly felt a sense of confidence after his tutoring session. Kristen is likable and personable. My son's grades greatly improved and he felt a sense of accomplishment. He looked forward to his tutoring sessions because he knew he would have a good sense of understanding his school work after being tutored by Kristen. My daughter, who was a senior in high school, also was tutored by Kristen for "fine tuning" before an exam. She was always amazed with Kristen's ability to simplify the lesson. My son's grades improved significantly. Kristin was a positive reinforcement and truly took an interest in my kids' success. I was happy to refer her to other students. Laurie G.

Anne is an outstanding math tutor - she is patient, knowledgeable and customizes her strategies to fit the student. She tutored both my children, who had distinctly different math skills, superbly. They both aced their math classes and all math standardized testing!

When Christine taught me concepts from the math section of the GRE, I was blown away with her ability to speak about math in such a clear and relatable way. I am usually bogged down by just the mere phrasing of the word problem, but she was immediately able to extract exactly which math concepts were being tested and identify what tools I needed to use. Christine helped me recognize what kind of questions were being asked because she has a great understanding of math so she has a wonderful way of breaking down and explaining concepts. She does not tolerate memorization without comprehension which means I am able to apply the concepts I have learned. Christine is patient and able to clearly convey the language of math in a way that makes sense. It is important to her that I fully understand the concept before we move on so that I can apply what I've learned to similar questions rather than wasting time by tackling each question as a brand new problem. Besides being whip smart, Christine is a very kind and fun instructor that I highly recommend!

About

I've been teaching and tutoring for over four years and have great experience tutoring children, teens, and adults. I teach students how to master test taking and enhance their test attitude. Attitude is fundamental to the success or failure that we experience in our life! My major focus, however, is international students as they need special approach and advice in order to succeed!

About

I am a licensed, professional, and highly qualified teacher in Massachusetts who has over 12 years in teaching mathematics, from the middle school through the high school level. I teach numeracy, problem solving, mathematical literacy, arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra 2 and statistics (including the AP level). I am available to tutor mathematics for test prep (unit tests, midterms, finals, MCAS, PARCC, SAT, SAT subject tests, ACT, and AP exams), summer tutoring, vacation tutoring, ongoing tutoring, one-time tutoring, one-on-one tutoring, small-group tutoring and other options. I can provide remedial work to fill in learning gaps, homework help or reteaching to aid in currently covered topics, or advance work for students who are bored in their current classes. My tutoring style is very language based and focuses on how, when and why mathematics is needed outside of the classroom. Students will learn not only to read mathematics and understand mathematical writing but also coherently write about the mathematical problems that they are solving. This is combined with the element that is most important for students who are developing an understanding and proficiency in solving problems: practice. Students will learn what alludes most struggling mathematics students: how do you study for a math test? Finally, it is my ultimate goal to inspire my students to develop a passion and love for learning mathematics, so that they have the skills and desire necessary to become independent learners of mathematics who have no need for me. I also teach beginner piano lessons to students who are looking to learn to play the piano from a classical method of teaching.
