Introduction: I have over fifteen years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. I have two music degrees from Berklee College of Music and Hamilton College and have also published three drumming books: “Groove Systems: Functional Four-way Coordination Exercises” (Hudson Music), "Shape Beats: Drum Notation Simplified" and a children's drumming book titled "Shape Beats For Kids" (Alfred Music). I'm an international touring professional musician who loves teaching! I absolutely love working with students of all ages. I like to tailor my lessons to fit the needs of each of my students. I make sure my students pick songs they enjoy to listen to, and I use those songs as a vehicle to work on technique and coordination. Tim is an amazing instructor! he worked extremely well with me asking how i learn best, as well as would not only teach, but study me as well. when i went in for my lesson he had me play to warm up, taught me a few things to help with technique, and saw a few habits i did and corrected them to make learning easier. Tim was very professional and yet laid back which is great because it didn't feel like i was back in school. he let me learn the songs that i wanted to learn, and wrote down our lesson to practice at home. i am very excited for my next lesson with him.

If you have an opportunity to work with Tim I highly, highly recommend it. Here's why - he knows his stuff and he's one of the most gifted teachers I've ever met. Period. I first met Tim a few years ago in California, looking for someone to teach me the drums. As an adult learner I was pretty set in my ways - I'd done customer training for more than 15 years and was usually very skeptical when it came to how other trainers approach teaching students. Simply put, Tim blew me away. He knows the drums, without a doubt. What sets him apart from other teachers is his natural ability to lead, guide, ans instruct. He's patient, he's kind, and he's genuinely invested in your growth as a student drummer. Every student learns a little differently and I've seen Tim easily adapt his teaching methods in ways that best suit his students' learning preferences. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I teach both remote (virtual) lessons and in-person lessons across Massachusetts. Rates: $85 for an hour long lesson $50 for a half-hour long lesson
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I tailor each lesson to fit the needs of my student. My goal is to make the drums fun, which will make a student want to practice more! All of my students provide me with a list of songs that they enjoy to listen to. We always end lessons working on a song he or she loves.
