I am a 47 year old man that picked up guitar with no musical experience at the age of 45. I have been going to lessons weekly with Pete for almost two years. I look forward to the lessons and I like them not only because I am progressing and seeing improvement but also because I think Pete is a great guy and I enjoy the discussion and back and forth banter that rounds out the lesson. Pete is following a course of instruction with me that uses Hal Leonard's books so you are building skills in a reasonable and complete way. Pete is clearly a talented guitarist and can pick up and help you with about any song you bring in or mention in class to supplement the book practice and to keep guitar interesting. Finally, when I was taking lessons at a local music store before I started with Pete, the instructor and I were shoved into what felt like a small hot closet for the lesson. I like going to Pete's house much better because his practice room is large and comfortable and he actually manages the climate to be comfortable for the student.
Alan was my first and only guitar teacher. He went above and beyond to help me to not only learn guitar, but learn music theory, work on writing music, and overall prepared me to be a collegiate music student and a working musician. Alan found out my goals right off the bat and catered our weekly lessons toward them. He provided encouragement and helpful feedback. He fostered my love for music, guitar, singing, and songwriting. Alan's music lessons helped shape me into the musician I am today.
Pat is an awesome teacher. He taught both of my sons, one to play guitar and the other to play bass, when they were in their teens. He is so great with kids! His way of teaching makes learning fun for them. They loved going to lessons, learning songs that they chose from the bands they liked. Years later my husband expressed an interest in learning to play and he taught him too. Young or old, Pat is the best! Years later the boys are still playing and still occasionally stop by to see him. If you are interested in learning how to play, go see Pat!
Tommy has been an excellent teacher. He mixes just the right amount of theory into the lessons when it is appropriate to explain what we are working on. He is also very personable and easy to work with. I can honestly say it was a great find when I found Tommy.
I've studied music with Joe for 11 years now and he also taught my daughter. He's an amazing musician but maybe a better teacher. He knows music theory like the back of his hand but it's his ability to explain it and get you to understand it and work with it that's great. He'll take a tune your playing and open your eyes to whats going on in that tune and give great ideas on how to practice too. You can practice or practice effectively. Joe gets you to do it effectively. Combine that with a fun , easy going guy and you have a great teacher. Jay M
Maribelle is a wonderful piano teacher and she is also a very nice person. My granddaughter enjoys her lessons very much and we hope to continue them in the future.
I was a bit nervous starting piano lessons in my 70s but Jonathan has given me such encouragement and praise that I am eager to take on increasingly challenging pieces. He is very attentive both to my strengths and to things I need to work on. Lessons are stimulating and very rewarding. I have seen him perform in groups and solo piano - he is superb!
My daughter has been taking voice lessons and absolutely loves going. She's only seven years old and has already learned so much and it's taught in a manner that allows her to totally understand and put all techniques into practice. Her teacher gives her full attention at each lesson and makes sure that the time you've paid for is used for you. I highly recommend them!
Mrs. Barone is a great instructor. Mrs. Barone teaches his students in a patient and understanding way and he provides and helps to build a strong foundation for his students. Besides, Mrs. Barone has broad and deep knowledge in the classical guitar specifically and music in general. I encourage you to enroll and take lessons with him because he will help you to achieve your goal in the future.
He provided private alto sax lessons to my daughter for 7 years. She is an exceptional musician, and he played a very significant role.
Very professional, great with kids and adults . Immediately put my rather shy 12 year old at ease. Clearly talented and his love of music is contagious. Beautiful studio! Looking forward to more lessons.
Jason Martin is a thoughtful dedicated musician who has a great teaching style. He is always prepared, professional and patient. His drive to better himself while pushing others is what is truly special about Mr.Martin. He has been playing for over 20 years and it shows. He is comfortable teaching Metallica as well as Scruggs. He has an amazing selection of instruments so you can try different tunings or stringed instruments. He has you work on pieces of your interest right away, which keeps you engaged. I do not think you could find a better teacher anywhere.
Joshua is accessible and has a calm, relaxed teaching style. He has expertise in modern Jazz harmony and technique, but I think he could teach any style. I highly recommend.
John is a very talented music teacher. His passion for music truly comes through in his ability to teach and inspire. John taught my daughter guitar for a year ... we were sad that he was moving, otherwise he would still be teaching her! She learned a great deal and developed a true appreciation for music. What impressed me the most about John is that he is very patient, has a great way of interacting with kids, and really enjoys what he is doing. If a lesson needed to go over by a few minutes, it always did. That is very unusual with private lessons ... and was much appreciated! We highly recommend John as a guitar teacher.
I believe in honesty and integrity. I believe in giving 100%.
I have taught kids swim lessons before, and I am certified by Red Cross with a lifeguarding and water safety certificate, as well as CPR and First Aid training/ certificates. I have also given Piano and Voice lessons before and will be attending music school in the fall for opera studies to further broaden my studies in music. I am not just opera based, although that is the best thing for my voice. I also teach jazz, pop, and healthy musical singing! Singing should be something that is always fun, and freeing, so why not learn how to do it in the most comfortable, fun, and healthy way possible? As a teacher, I will recognize what my client would like to work on (whether it be a style of music, music history, music theory, or even basic piano lessons), while hopefully providing valid insight on how to really engage one's voice healthily. Voice lessons are very affordable (first 30 minute session free). Although I have given voice lessons at a regular rate before, I really would like the opportunity to meet new people and hopefully help them explore the amazing opportunities and fun times that go along with singing!
Classical piano and music theory are taught. Get 40 minutes of piano lessons with singing, drawing and a lot of fun! There will be a performance twice a year.
We provide piano, voice, and guitar lessons. We provide private and small group classes for all ages, levels, and styles. We have great rates.
Learn blues and music theory (no, those aren't opposed to one another.) and sound better on your guitar. Blend better with your band. Record better at home or in the studio! As a 45-year music pro, I've backed up Bo Diddley and shared stages with Greg Allman, Stray Cats, John Lee Hooker -- there are too many to list.
