Pricilla does an excellent job. My house is sparkling and smells wonderful when she leaves. Somehow she's able to get every bit of dog hair and dust. I trust her enough to leave my house while she's cleaning, which says so much!

I could not be any happier with how Robin helped us! Robin went way above and beyond while taking care of our dog while we were away. She was very accommodating and the grooming she gave to our chocolate lab was absolutely amazing! She will definitely be seeing me and my dog again. Thank you Robin!!

We have used Lisa many of occasions and she has always gone above and beyond when watching our pups and taking care of my home when we go away. It is very hard to find someone that is trustworthy, dependable and responsible. Lisa definently has all of these qualities and more! We will be using her for all of our future dog sitting and house sitting needs. Thanks again Lisa, A.C.

Cheryl never got to watch our pet because the trip was unexpectedly canceled. However- she was very responsive and friendly- she went out of her way to accommodate multiple in person visits to get to know us and the cat before the job started, and she has experienced with watching animals. I would recommend her!

Emily has been taking care of our "baby" Belle for the past few years. There is nothing better than going on vacation and feeling so comfortable that our home and our pets are well taken care of. She takes such good care of Belle, and I think Belle is sad when its us coming through the door and not Emily. She spoils them and the house is as clean as I left it. I highly recommend Emily to everyone and anyone that loves their pets and doesn't want to put them in a kennel while you vacation!

Bernard took excellent care of my dog Jerry on several occasions. He took her to the dog park for several minutes of exercise daily. He also made sure she was well fed and watered. Jerry enjoyed being around Bernard, and would greet him with tail wagging!

You won't see my car loaded with 5 or 6 dogs at a time. The dogs I walk are done so in small groups of up to 3 at a time. Most of my clients prefer their dogs are walked solo. Not only is this safer for the dogs, I believe it makes for a better quality walk. When sitting for cats, I always try to get the feeding and cleaning chores done efficiently so that I have time to play and interact with them.

A Fairy Dogmother pet services provides exercise, conditioning, and socialization. We will also take your dog to the vet when you can't. Basic training available for an extra fee. 19 years in business. Insured.

We have been serving the people and pets of the Valley for 12 years! We offer a variety of dog walking services including off-leash group hikes. Pet sitting and training services are also available. Trust your pets with the best.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
