- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Greetings! I am very much looking forward to interacting with you on an individual basis. As so much of violin playing depends on a close relationship with your physicality, I'm here to help guide you, to the best that I can, through a holistic and mindful approach to violin performing and practicing. Mind over matter, always in the service of music. The only thing asked from you is a serious, committed, and passionate attitude. At this time, I am offering a one-time package of three private lessons, meant to act as a supplement to your current studies. That said, for those who are beginners or are looking for regular guidance there is an option of signing up for permanent weekly lessons. To help me begin to know you as a violinist and person, please take a few minutes to send me a message and leave your contact info. I will respond promptly via email to schedule a **free 15-minute consultation via Zoom or Google Meet**, to which each prospective student and family is entitled. During the consultation, we'll discuss structure of lessons, rates, policies, and logistics- and, have a general chat! After the 15-minute consulation, a trial lesson is scheduled. During the trial lesson, I ask specific questions about a potential student's interest level and prior musical study. It is also during the trial lesson that I do an assessment of the student's musical aptitude and physicality as necessary for violin playing. For beginners, this will include teaching how to hold the instrument and bow.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master of Music Degree from Rice University (Houston, Texas) and served as a teaching assistant for the University of South Carolina String Project.
