Shannon Pearce

Introduction: I am a piano and keyboard teacher, and I travel to my students' homes for private lessons. I have been playing piano for 35 years and teaching for over 20 years. I attended Eastman School of Music, majoring in piano performance and minoring in music theory. I was classically trained, winning numerous piano competitions. I've branched out into many different genres of music and I sing as well. I have a fun, friendly style of teaching and enjoy teaching children and adults of all ages. A strong foundation can be laid with classical music, music theory, sight reading and exercises for technique - however my teaching methodology is uniquely tailored for each student, based on what resonates with them. If the student would rather play modern music and learn to play by ear, I can teach that as well. I encourage students to select their favorite repertoire. It is my hope that everyone I teach is instilled with a deeper love of music - and that they experience the singing of their heart through playing piano.
