I have used Alvin Smithson's services for over five years as a piano tuner, teacher and performer. I am always impressed with his skills, artistry and professionalism. Alvin first came to tune my 100-years old Steinway after it had been neglected for a number of years. He first examined the instrument, diagnosed what needed to be done and then proceeded with his expert tuning. Immediately after he was done and started playing, I was amazed at how good the piano sounded. Alvin explained that with a piano that hasn't been tuned or played in so many years, it will take some time to achieve its best form and sound for which it was built. A short time after, my wife started taking piano lessons from Alvin and as she started gaining proficiency in playing under his guidance, the piano itself gained a rich pleasing sound. Alvin paid close attention and adjusted notes or did a full tuning whenever needed. He also took the time to clean the strings and do minor technical adjustments. When a string needed to be replaced, Alvin recommended a technician from a highly reputable company. Overall, we owe it to his expertise to have the wonderful old piano do what it was built for by the Steinway masters. I should also mention that I heard some great musicians at venues where Alvin is the regular piano tuner. People who visit our house and hear our piano, or play it themselves, always compliment its sound. But the best comes when Alvin himself sits at the keyboard, whether at our house, at a social function or performing in the theater, it's such a joy to hear him play some great classical pieces as well as his own wonderful compositions. He is truly a very talented, sensitive and highly knowledgeable artist. And such a pleasant person, too. My wife and I feel fortunate to have Alvin give us the best piano sound to enjoy live music in our home. I would recommend him to anyone as piano tuner, teacher and overall musician.

Sammy is a wonderful music teacher. I've taken piano and voice lessons from him for the past few months and have seen much improvement. He's always very friendly and professional. I always feel comfortable around him as he creates a safe environment where mistakes are ok. He is very knowledgeable and is able to adjust to even the most rudimentary of lessons. He always gives positive feedback and constructive critiques. I fully recommend Sammy to anyone at any level looking to learn more about music!

I am both shocked(!) and incredibly happy with how my voice has improved since I started voice lessons with Barbara just a matter of months ago. Tone, range, everything. She is truly an amazing teacher and a lovely person. And as a bonus, you will never have as much fun at a music lesson as you will with Barbara! Very, very highly recommended!

Voice lessons with Rachel Leanza have been a great pleasure. She is awesome at working out a schedule for lessons and making sure you're comfortable during them. You get what you give in effort, but she is always there to help and answer any questions. When you do start to experience progress in your voice, Rachel is just as enthusiastic as you are, which makes the lessons quite fun. If you're looking to learn about singing and enjoy yourself while doing it, then these lessons are definitely worth it.

Ms. Nicole Lamm was my very first voice teacher. I started taking voice lessons with her at about age 13, and continued for over 5 years, for all of 8th-12th grades. Being at the most beginning stages of singing, Nicole not only introduced me to a genre of music that I never thought I would sing, but that I would easily fall in love with. She brought me from an inexperienced child to a young lady, preparing me and instilling in me musicianship, work ethic and and a passion for classical music, including art song, musical theater and opera. Her teachings are affective for anyone, young or old, beginner or professional. Because of her patience and time spent with me all those years, I have been singing for over 10 and am continuing my studies as an opera singer, a career that began with her and will last a lifetime.

Our daughter started working with Christine at 11 years old, at first just for voice, but eventually for piano as well. Christine’s work with our daughter was outstanding on several levels. She helped our daughter improve her technical skills, she inspired confidence in our daughter to perform, and she readily shared her love of music. Our daughter enjoyed all of her lessons, even as they worked hard for the full time they spent together. When it was time for the school musical or other performances, Christine was always ready to help our daughter prepare for an audition or concert. I would highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for expert instruction in voice or piano. And for those of you with a teen or pre-teen looking for instruction, don’t under estimate the impression it will make on your child when they realize they can buy music from their instructor on iTunes!

Ms. Alexandra, has helped me tremendously to improve my voice skills. Most of my singing experience came from school or church choir where I always sang the Alto – lower note – parts. My goal for taking voice lessons is to improve the high notes. Ms. Alexandra’s teachings has worked my voice to reach notes that I previously had difficulty and sounded soft or raspy (over-strain). Her voice exercises have corrected the posture of my mouth, interior and exterior, and relaxed the muscles surrounding the voice in order to open-up the voice for clarity and volume. Every voice lesson with her has been a stepping stone to reaching my goal. I can see the troubled areas have improved and become easier to reach. I have even seen my lower-notes sounding clearer, better, rounder, and colorful. Ms. Alexandra identified my strengths, for example, the lower-notes and coloratura. She then expanded on those strengths by taking them further, working that area to sound even better and also to keep me motivated to reach my other goal because if I had only practiced on my goal, I would eventually ended-up believing I was not good enough to reach those high notes; In order for me to reach those notes, I had to be confident, relaxed, and not have my mind preoccupied on reaching that goal. Ms. Alexandra knew this already and kept the lessons varied and interesting. Through her teachings I have come to understand how my voice functions, and identify the shape of my mouth in order to identify different levels of sound. She is very patient and understanding and has great ability expand on your current knowledge, and nurture a beginning singer, like me.

Singing in church choirs has been a wonderful outlet and enabled me to find a community as I moved every few years to different parts of the globe. Finally putting down roots, I wanted to find a voice coach who would help me improve breath control, strengthen the range of my voice, and improve the overall quality of my singing. I am blessed to have found Keely Bosworth Borland, a gifted soprano and performer. Keely has been the perfect coach for me. She has a unique ability to both nurture and push me. Keely has identified and helped me work on my breath control. She has used a wide variety of music to foster my confidence while stretching my vocal range. Her lessons include a selection of vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises each week that compliment the music we sing. I have found that recording her lessons and rehearsing them between lessons to be of great help. I highly recommend Keely to anyone looking for a voice coach from the novice to the serious performer.
