Private Yoga Instruction
We had a great experience with Elizabeth, I would highly recommend her! We are yoga beginners and she gave great instruction and adjustments, was very patient, and tolerated my 4 year old son sitting on his ipad and occasionally giggling at us during the practice.Feb 27, 2020VerifiedYoga for Beginners's reply
Thanks for the review! Loved having the audience-glad we could entertain him ;)
Private Yoga Instruction
Yoga lessons with Elizabeth have been great! As a beginner, I appreciate how she explains each pose and the foundations of yoga, ensuring that I have good form and understand what each move is meant to do. I also appreciate that she adapts our lessons based on my needs (i.e. knee or hip issues) and is teaching me how to listen to my body. Elizabeth is extremely professional and responsive. Thank you for the lessons!Feb 21, 2020VerifiedYoga for Beginners's reply
Thank you, Graciela, for trusting me with your new-found yoga practice. It's been awesome to see how you listen to your body, and start adjusting before I even have a chance to suggest an adjustment--just after a couple sessions!
She's wonderful!!! I found her very easy to talk to and work with. She has a great sense of humor too. Elizabeth is very flexible with your schedule. During my first session, she demonstrated and explained each pose. She answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to take yoga.Mar 30, 2015Verified
Having NEVER done Yoga before, I wanted to start with private lessons prior to attending a class at a studio. Elizabeth was great as she introduced me to the basics of yoga and each session reviewed the previous session to ensure I was doing it correctly. She would send me "homework " which were photos and step-by-step directions to achieve the various poses and flow. I am ready to start a class after only a few sessions. I had flexibility issues especially in my right side and she would always work with me to strengthen that area - not avoid it. I would recommend Elizabeth and will most likely do another series to compliment the studio classes.Apr 6, 2015Verified
Elizabeth combines the spiritual lessons with the physical lessons, so it was never about "the pose", it was about how to take care of ourselves physically and spiritually. And her teachings on how the body is meant to move into and hold a pose is exquisite. I finally like yoga and have even started a daily practice.Feb 21, 2020Yoga for Beginners's reply
Jules--you have no idea how happy I am to hear you started a daily yoga practice!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Prices listed are for sessions at my home studio in Takoma Park. I may charge a travel fee for clients who prefer to do sessions at their home, depending on how far travel is and the time of day. (We all know how lovely DC-area traffic can be.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to connect with my clients by phone to learn a little more about what they want to get out of yoga, and so they can learn more about me. At the beginning of each session we spend a few minutes talking about what their body is feeling like, so I can get an idea of what we will focus on in that session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have more than 500 hours of yoga teacher training (I did my 200 hour and 300 hour training through YogaWorks), and 100 hours of power flow vinyasa training. See below for the story
