On point and professional. Ed went above our expectations. We had a large concrete slab that needed to be demolished and hauled away. Price was very fair and work was completed on time with no problems.

My husband called Briggs yesterday morning to get information. While I was at work, they came, removed the wax from my oak floors and were gone in a flash. I am astounded how they returned my floors to almost new condition. Not only did they do a good job, they were fast and very reasonable in price. Thanks Briggs. I love my floors!!

Awesome!! If there were more than 5 stars, Kingdom Kleaning would have achieved that level. David kept in touch, quoted a price, and arrived with his crew ready to work. We asked David to do a move in clean and boy, that is exactly what we got. This is a house built in 1911 with all the nooks and all the wood moulding that goes with a house this age. The 3 gentlemen worked non stop, being led by David, that was working right along with them. Lead by example was very evident while watching them work. We were extremely pleased and plan on calling David when it is time for a move out clean with the house our son is moving from.

Working with Marvin and his team was great. They did a very Thorough job as my home had just gone through a lot of home Improvements and had a tremendous amount of fine dust from sanding. Marvin cleaned everything with great attention to detail. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

John is a very nice guy and his work is impeccable. At times I felt bad because I thought I was being too demanding about the specifications of the job but John met every demand of me and my wife. I hired John to put up a textured stone tile back splash for me. Originally I bought a tile off Amazon. John put up about half of the tile which took him a decent bit of time because he had to cut the tile and ensure that it looked good. After looking at it, I was not satisfied with the look. It was not because of his work but because of the quality of tile, which was poor. John explained to me that the tile was not good. He could have took advantage of me, finished the job, and went on with his day. Instead he gave me his honest opinion, took down the tile and cleaned off the wall free of charge (even though it was his time that was wasted because of my mistake in buying cheap tile), and he gave me a GREAT recommendation of who to purchase tile from. I went that same day to where he recommended and we quickly rescheduled the job. On the day of the rescheduled job, we had yet another set back. The new source of tile sent me some damaged pieces and I did not have enough tile to complete the job. Again John worked with me and came the next day after I got extra pieces to complete the job. John was extremely understanding and very helpful throughout the entire process. Any home improvement job from hereon out that I have I will absolutely call John first AND I will refer all of my family and friends to him. If you value honesty, professionalism, attention to detail, and expert craftsmanship John is without doubt the person to handle any job you need!

Marvin is a great Professional in the business. The quality in his work is noteworthy. We appreciate his keen eye and honest assessment. Our unfinished porch was completed with stone similar to the original stone on the 80 year old home. We will use Marvin for future projects.

Exceeded expectations. R&D's professional, courteous and extremely capable team painted ALL of the interior of my home, refinished my front door and found me someone to fix my stone path. They worked efficiently and with extreme care for my home, managing to complete the work in half the time that others quoted and at the best price. Highly recommend R&D.

Hired Wilson Construction to build a 200 linear foot cedar picket fence and to extend a driveway with crushed stone. After obtaining several quotes from other fence installers, Wilson offered one of the better quality fences for the lowest price. They also worked with us on a price for the driveway extension, so we are quite happy with the pricing.

Ramiro and his team did a fantastic job on the stone patio and aluminum fence installation at our house. They were professional and meticulous and always went above exceptions on his work. I've already recommended him to several people who are looking for a landscaping/fence/patio pro. I will certainly hire Ramiro and his team again when I have a future need.

John was very friendly, and quick to respond and set up an appointment . Also very accommodating of last minute changes caused by my contractor. I wanted my first countertop sealing done by a professional. He spent about an hour and one-half cleaning and sealing. He also explained my stone, the process, and where to get my own supplies. I would use him again.

I used thumbtack to find a local contractor for the replacement of my driveway. I met with several contractors and Mauricio Stone gave me the best price per sq ft. He met with me to go over the scope of work that i requested. I was pleased with the entire job from start to finish.

We were very satisfied with her Grace's job. First of all the communication with Grace worked great and she arrived at my apartment in time. She was the only one including a detailed overview over her service in the quote already. That and the fact that the price was very reasonable for the package made me hire her for the job. Grace provided all the cleaning equipment which was very convenient. The apartment is sparkling clean now and she even oiled all the wooden furniture and even cleaned the microwave and everything for just a "light cleaning job". I will hire her again next time!

Everton did complete landscaping of our front yard , driveway and backyard. His work including suggestions for the type and locations of the plantings, stone work for walls and patios, and types of stone for walls, patios and driveway. Everton has an excellent perspective for suggesting designs. His work is not inexpensive, but you get a quality job for what you pay.

Oseas put in a stone venner and manufactured paver parking pad, He had to do significant excavation near a gas line and construct a ramp with a 90-degree turn. The project took a little longer than expected, but the quality of the work was excellent and the price was competitive. The crew was friendly and the cleanup was complete. County inspections went without a hitch. Overall, we were highly satisfied and would recommend D & D without hesitation.

I highly recommend Bill LeFave and his team at Audobon Landscaping. He recently provided fabulous design ideas and expert installation that completely transformed my small back yard. Features include a gorgeous paver patio, stone steps, 2 loose-laid stone walls, re-contouring for perfect water control, an irrigation system for the gardens, and lovely lighting. He also did a phenomenal job of cleaning up, pruning, and mulching my entire yard. Bill has great crews, and he supervises and works along with them on all stages of the project. I feel fortunate to have found someone with such knowledge, artistry, and skill to transform my yard. Besides that, he's delightful to work with, can give you terrific guidance about plants, and provides his services at a very fair price. Before we started, I saw his phenomenal work at the yard of a very satisfied customer. Now I am also one.

I needed to have half of my hardwood floors refinished and the other half polished. Dan called and walked me through what the process consisted of and gave me a detailed estimate. He personally came out to do the job. He was a pleasure to work with. The job was done much quicker than I expected and it looks amazing. I've had so many compliments on the floors and I praise Dan every time. I'll continue to recommend him to anyone who needs work completed.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
