Introduction: Trained in Italy under Master Reflexologies, Julian Myftiu, LMT has established in Birmingham, MI as his location of the practice. Reflexology, based on ancient Chinese therapy, involves the manipulation of specific areas of the body - primarily in the feet, hands, and ears - which correspond to other parts of the body. Also known of as zone therapy, this bodywork involves application of pressure, similar to what is utilized in Acupressure, to stimulate body organs and relieve areas of congestion. Reflexology works on the body’s energy flow to stimulate self-healing and maintain balance in physical function. It is used to reduce pain, increase relaxation and stimulate the circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids. It is especially useful in stress-related illness and emotional disorders. Reflexology is also convenient in cases where an area of the body is traumatized or diseased to the extent that direct manipulation is not appropriate. In addition to his training and experience in Reflexology, Julian is an expert practitioner in Tui Na (Chinese) Massage and highly experienced in Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Cupping Therapy, Stretching, Rehabilitation, and Therapeutic Touch. He is a member of the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber, Associated Bodyworks and Massage Professionals, American Therapeutic Association, and Massage Alliance of southeastern Michigan. He is a Tai Chi instructor of Tai Chi center in Venice, Italy.
