Introduction: My name is Garret Schmittling, and I am an independent performer and teacher. I have been teaching since 2005 and have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of students, from young to old, from beginner to advanced and everything in between. I have worked with a multitude of artists, in a wide variety of genres and have played numerous events.
I teach via Skype and personalize each lesson for you. On my website I have a page that's dedicated to FAQ's for Live Lessons and also a calendar for time slots and rescheduling. After each lesson, I send you a detailed e-mail summary and a video summary of what we went over in the lesson that is private for you to keep. Nervous about Skype? Our first meeting is a no-strings attached FREE 15 minute introduction. We can talk music, goals and make sure your comfortable with me as a teacher. After we can discuss weekly or bi-weekly lessons!
I have a number of free lessons constantly added to my site, but nothing replaces a one on one learning environment. These, just like all the wealth of information on YouTube, can aid ones playing, if there's a direction. Without that sense of direction, it seems pretty overwhelming! I have a wealth of examples of me teaching and tons of free resources that I will be utilizing throughout our lessons as well. Feel free to check it out!

Four Thumbs Up to Garrett (From myself as a parent and my 15 year old son who took lessons with him) Garret taught Drew more in four months than he learned in three years at a local music store. He delivered one hour sessions both in our home and online via video (Skype). The use of the technology was easy to use and VERY helpful during times of inclement weather. Garrett is a well rounded musician and teacher and I highly recommend him to anyone with a desire to learn to play and play well!!

I came to Garret for some theory related guitar lessons. I've been playing for quite some time but always wanted to get further into the theory side of things. His methods make the concepts very easy to understand and apply in every-day playing.

Garret is an excellent guitar teacher. He meets you at whatever level you are at. Is always positive, encouraging and is very knowledgeable. He's definitely taken me to another level. I highly recomend him!
