About

Prior to considering my decades of competitive and teaching experience, you might be more interested to know that I understand the bio-mechanics of tennis and golf in a way that those I've taught find, well, uncanny. More importantly, my ability to convey these insights to any level of player, from a five-year old beginner to the amateur to the highly competitive, is where the "rubber meets the road" - ultimately I haven't succeeded unless I can find ways for the student to experience/feel the fundamentals for themselves. My professional tennis instructing career started at Cranbrook Institute in the 1970's while I was also training as a competitive player. I later earned my USPTA designation. I went on to teach professionally at Franklin Racquet Club, Oakland Hill Country Club and Beverly Hills Athletic Club through my competitive years and beyond (while earning Masters of Business Administration) before establishing a business career. (While I was active as a teaching professional I earned United States Professional Tennis Association certification.) Competitively I achieved a top ten ranking in Boys 18-and-under in Southeastern Michigan Tennis Association and earned a 4-year athletic scholarship to Oakland University-Rochester, MI where I was elected Team Captain and played #1 singles and #1 doubles. (I was also earned All State Honors as a high school basketball player.)

We are known as the teaching club and our focus is on the Modern game of Tennis (top-spin, consistency, footwork, and high-level experience). I connect and relate with all players as I have been through it all from beginner to collegiate level. Combination of time on the tennis court and match experience helps grow a tennis player's skills, confidence, and comfort to compete.

I can help those who need help with basics and to those experienced that just need more practice. I can help with your ground strokes, volleys, overheads, serves, slices, topspin, etc. I am very hands on and won't quit until you have the hang of it. I charge $20 an hour for my services if you come to me, & 25 if I have to come to you. I practice at anchor bay courts because I have access to the shed that is full of equipment. If there are courts by you, I can do that too. I can also meet with you at a tennis club of your choosing, but you will have to cover the fee for a court.

Patience is key. Patience with both kids/adults, as well as with the horse/pony. Good things can be rushed, great things require time. I pride myself in being patient, kind, and forgiving. It is much easier to create a "pretty picture" correctly from day 1, than trying to fill in the holes left behind from others.

About

I have been playing tennis since the age of 14. Being a quick learner was a great advantage towards me. Learning all I could in a short period of time, which resulted in me playing varsity tennis for my high school team. Ever since high school, I have played consistently through the years and have also trained a few friends and colleagues to teach them how to go, from not knowing how to play tennis to being a regular at their tennis club. If you are looking to learn the basics, techniques, and skills to play tennis on a regular basis, please, contact me.

Hi! My name is Anthony, and I am 23 years old. I have been teaching tennis for eight years now. I've worked with all ages and all levels. So if you need to become a little better recreational wise or if you just need someone to play with to level yourself up, train and play with me. I am stoked; are you? Why am I doing this? It is because I want to save up money to go to college. Which is a better way than doing it while playing tennis?
