I have worked with other nutritionists in the past and followed other diets over the last few years. Other nutritionists and diets required scales, measuring cups, and plain boring rice, chicken, and eggs. I fell off every plan and diet quickly. Shocking! I like wine, I like to eat out once in a while, I hate cooking, I have a 3 year old and no time for measuring. Enter Charlotte. I think she is like an architect for your body and the nutrients that will make it strong. She also takes into account your lifestyle. Everyone is different. I’m a 6’ tall female. My needs are goals are different than others and she gave me a blue print nutritional template tailored for me. She gave me the blue print and I can build meals that I like, that fit my lifestyle, and that are going to help me reach my goals. No measuring, no scales, and no daily cooking required. I have also struggled at times to follow Charlotte’s blue print nutritional template. I am human. My family eats unhealthy food that tempts me. I eat when I’m stressed. However, Charlotte’s template is super easy to reintroduce. I can get back on track easily and not feel like I am starving myself or eating bland, boring food. Charlotte really takes into account the whole person, your lifestyle, and your goals. She doesn’t try to impose a one-size fits all meal plan. My husband and I searched for weeks to find a competent trainer for our girls looking to improve their pformance for high school athletics. We searched high and low but couldn't find a personal trainer who seemed to treat their position as a serious career the way the Skory brothers do at Motiv8. My girlfriends and I hired PPT to give massages for our stress relief party. Sara and Sabreena were our therapists and they were both fantastic! Coordinating with PPT was very easy, the price was more than fair, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend and will use again.
I have never written an online review before, but after reading Leslie G.'s comments, I just had to speak up. I have been working with Brent for more than three years and can't recommend him highly enough. He is knowledgeable, professional and very, very good at what he does. He has helped me recalibrate my body completely. I am stronger, have no pain, and feel better than I ever have. Brent is very clear about his credentials: A BS in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Michigan State University, and certifications in personal training, senior fitness, nutrition and sports nutrition. Certificates are posted in his studio. But I don't imagine Leslie saw those certificates, because I'm sure she never stepped foot in the studio. How do I know that? The $70 per-hour fee is for clients who come to him. If you ask Brent to come to your home, the higher fee applies. When I began working with Brent, he made it very clear that everything he does is tailored completely to the individual under one-on-one supervision. No mirrors, no machines, no pushing to the point of pain. He has developed his own, proprietary method that is very different from what you would find from a typical personal trainer in a gym. His overarching concern is wellness and functionality, calibrating your body so the muscles work properly and are aligned correctly. Body image and weight loss are secondary. His methodology is sound and effective. Quick to debunk the latest fitness trends, Brent will give you complete, academic explanations about everything he does if you ask him. I am a curious journalist so I always ask, and that is why I know exactly why he recommends heat-only for muscle soreness. Heat, I have learned from Brent, increases blood flow and nutrient exchange, promoting healing. Ice is used to reduce swelling and dampen pain. This can be warranted when you have a major injury and swelling, but ice will also prevent blood flow and the corresponding nutrient exchange, which makes healing take longer. I am quite sure that if Leslie is this unhappy after only three weeks, she was looking for something different than what Brent provides. And that is fair enough. I just want to make sure that other people who are looking for a knowledgeable, effective trainer don't discount Brent based on one malicious review.
Robert came to me one night after seeing my successes and failures over the past couple years with diet and weight loss. He was genuine and caring and offered his services to me. To be honest, at first I was apprehensive mostly due to cost and time - but he's been absolutely wonderful. He's taken the time to understand my lifestyle (working 2 jobs) and has helped guide me toward finding ways to incorporate a healthy lifestyle in it. Every personal training session is more than just a work out. I learned that. You can't just show up, work out and leave. This has to become a part of your life - day in and day out. It took me almost 3 months to make a paradigm shift from within. To go from eating fast food, never working out and eating at poor times ... To eating healthy, eating smaller portions several times a day... Takes effort and motivation and Robert helps you realize this. For me, my health is the most important. I want to life a full life and now I can say that I want to live a full, active life. Eventually make my way to doing marathons and the like. Robert uses his understanding of behaviors to guide you through the process of his training. I've honestly felt like I have a mentor, psychologist, nutritionist and ultimately a trainer who fully understands what im going through and motivates me to succeed. And I have!! I've lost over 80 pounds and continue to be a success as I learn more and push more every time I work with a Robert.
