My work stands out in several ways. 1. I have a realistic understanding of what exercise may be for people who are new to it. I know that working out may be intimidating at first but I'm very good at easing beginners into a new, healthier lifestyle. 2. Like it says in my Thumbtack profile, I view the body as one unit made up of several different physiological systems. With this understanding I can help to relieve your stress through the means of exercise. 3. Regardless of the differences in my client's goals I always spend a lot of time on building and maintaining proper posture because spending extra time on postural awareness will help to prevent injuries as well as maintain an appealing appearance. 4. There are seven primal movement patterns every human being must do to build and maintain a well-rounded strong healthy body. These patterns are push, pull, squat, bend, lunge, twist and gate. (Paul Chek) I will try to incorporate each of these different movement patterns into all of my clients programming regardless of their specific goal. I feel that is very important to be able to move your body through all of the ranges of motion in which it is designed to move. What I like most about my job is helping people who want to be helped. I feel a great sense of gratification when my clients tell me that people in their lives are complementing them on improvements in their appearance. I also love the way it makes me feel when my clients tell me how they didn't feel like working out at the beginning of their training session, but then when they are finished they feel great and have a ton of energy and a strong sense of well-being the rest of the day.

Lori, 45 Teacher, Mother Training for 1.5 years, 2-3 times per week Having not worked out since becoming a mother (over 12 years ago), I was reluctant to head back to the gym. I knew my busy schedule would allow me to make excuses not to go; and I wasn't sure what exercises to do or how to do them. However, I also knew that I lacked the strength and flexibility needed to live the life I wanted to. Working with a personal trainer seemed like the best option. After meeting Drew for the first time, I knew that Fitness Garden was going to be the best place for me to achieve my goals. Drew has the knowledge, flexibility and encouraging personality that I needed to get back into the habit of health and fitness. Whether you are already and athlete, or a beginner like me, I would highly recommend Drew Ferderer and Fitness Garden. Drew is extremely knowledgeable about the body and how muscles and joints function and interact with each other. Because of his continuing education, he is able to customize my workouts to help me achieve my goals using the best practices in his field. In addition to my time at the gym, he gives me advice as to what to do to continue my progress at home, including stretching, foam rolling and nutritional suggestions. Another advantage to having a trainer like Drew, is that he is very accommodating. Knowing that I have had neck/spine surgery, Drew regularly adjusts my routines (sometimes on the spot) to avoid pain or discomfort. If I arrive at a session with a stiff or pulled muscle, he makes time during the workout to do the necessary stretching or rolling to get the most out of the workout and prevent further discomfort. One final reason for highly recommending Drew Ferderer and Fitness Garden is the encouragement that I get at each session. When Drew ups the weight or reps on an exercise and I think there is no way I could possibly do it, Drew always says that I can. He has always been right! Drew holds me accountable for each minute of my session while empowering me to achieve my goals.

I am 50+ years old and I have been training with Drew for over a year and a half. I started working out with low expectations and I didn't really expect to see much of a difference. I was wrong! I have gained strength, lost weight and improved my overall health with Drew's help. Drew is great to work with, he has been flexible with his time to fit my schedule and he is very professional. One of the best decisions I ever made is to start training at Fitness Garden with Drew.

Name: Leah Damon Age: 23 Duration of Training with Fitness Garden: December to February and left because of a job change out of state Goals when starting: lose weight and get strong Reasons for starting and continuing: I needed motivation to stay on track and to push myself Thoughts on training methods: I loved it! I like not using machines because the movements are more natural and I can understand the reasoning behind doing a particular exercise. What do you like about Fitness Garden : I like how it is personalized and Drew works with your schedule and pushes you when you need it but listens to you when you need to stop too. He was encouraging and motivated me to go beyond what I thought I could do and to stick with training even after I moved. He still has been a great resource when I have questions, which has been great!

Name: Angella Carlos Age: 22 Reason for beginning personal training: To have a more aesthetically pleasing body for dance, build strength and stamina, and learn gym exercises/training program that would help me achieve these. What you liked about Drew’s training methods: I liked how he motivated me during the times when my body felt like giving up. It was important to me because I tend not to push myself past my limits when I workout. I also appreciated how he constantly gave me comments/feedback during or after each set of exercises. I was able to correct myself right away or at least become more conscious of my form while doing the exercises. Moreover, the progression of the program was paced very well and I felt myself improving with every session. The repetition and variation of exercises were effective in building consistency and strength, and the addition of new ones made it fun and more challenging each time. What you learned during your personal training: The whole training method that I was given was the biggest lesson learned. Through it I got to know my body more, what my strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to working out. This awareness has taught me what exactly I need to work on so I could target those and be more efficient when I go to the gym. Any other thoughts you would like to include: I would recommend Drew to anyone who would like to improve on their fitness and become more confident in their bodies. It was a great experience working with him!

Name:Shuo Zhang Age:21 Gender:Male It is a great pleasure to have opportunities meeting my buddy Drew every week. He is a professional trainer with great patience. I'm a international student, but he is always willing to explain and show me again and again what is the correct way of working when I do not understand or misunderstand. I was a fat guy with 210 lbs weights. Right now I'm around 200 lbs with more muscles but less fats. I can accomplish deadlift for 275 lbs, front squat for 245 lbs, and bench press for 185 lbs. I know it is not a big number for the guys who working for years but it really means a lot to me. All of these accomplishments cannot happen without Drew's training. The most important thing I've learned from him is that working out is a life-time thing which is the exactly same thing as breathing,eating,and sleeping. I will go back China for 3 months. I'm absolutely gonna keep working hard even without Drew.And that's it. Thanks Drew for help and I will beat you for doing push ups when I'm back man.
