FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association with the certification of a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. The NSCA requires me to fulfill 20 hours of continuing education credits annually to maintain my certification.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted a career that I would find rewarding. Being that I run my own business I have a lot of responsibility, but when I have success it means so much more. I started my own personal training business because I want to help people who want to be helped. I have worked in gyms and I know how they badger gym members to purchase personal training. This doesn't feel right to me. I think that gym members know that personal training is an option and they don't need to be told constantly.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have been working with a man for several months now that had no prior experience with exercising or athletics. He has made tremendous progress in the last several months and has very much so become a better version of himself. I began with him when he weighed 155 LBS he now weighs 175 LBS and has really not put on any fat weight. What I am most proud of is the fact that he is now becoming aware of how exercise influences his mood/hormones. He now realizes the importance of performing large muscle mass compound exercises to elicit the hormones that give him a sense of well-being.
